LOCAL SPORT:
Sheema Girls U-17 team from Sheema District have jubilated to the fullest after defeating Kisoro Young Blood in a 1-0 victory at Bushenyi Stadium.
Airtel Rising Stars season 7 started in gear on Friday 10th 2018 and ended today where winners have been awarded with golden trophies, golden medals, certificates and a cheque of one million Shillings per team while the Runners up walked away with Silver trophies, Silver medals , certificates and UGX 500,00 per team.

Joseph Matovu, the Airtel Business Manager Bushenyi Branch thanked all the teams that participated in this season and encouraged more teams to join this competition that takes place nationwide annually.
FUFA EX-COM and Executive for Western Region Chris Kalibala urged the teams in the region to continue supporting such competitions adding that it helps in identifying talents. He said that the main aim of bringing this year’s tournament to western Uganda was show that even on the soils of this area; National team can get quality players.
Mr.Kalibala gave examples of Farouk Miya, Paul Mucureezi, Kezironi Kizito, Muhamad Shaban, Opolot Julius, and Allan Okello among others whose talents were discovered through Airtel Rising Stars campaign that started in 2011.
Other sports officials present were Mutaka Sheka, Salim Twaha, Cosmas, Buduka, Jackson Nyoma and Oliver Mbakeka the Assistant coach for Crested Cranes.
Finance and Administration Secretary Mwebesa Patrick Kizito who was the Chief Guest representing Chairman Jafari Basajjabalaba thanked FUFA and Airtel for partnership and encouraged other companies to copy such innovations as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.
Airtel Uganda also double as the official sponsors of National Ladies team known as the Crested Cranes.
