The wife to incarcerated Kyadondo East Member of Parliament, Robert Kyagulanyi also known as Bobi Wine Barbara Itungo,has lashed at government for jailing him instead of taking him for medical attention.
Following the chaos in Arua last week that allegedly saw President Museveni’s convoy stoned, a number of people including MPs; Kyagulanyi, Gerard Karuhanga, Francis Zaake and Paul Mwiru were arrested.
However, Zaake and Kyagulanyi were tortured by security agencies but the latter was charged with illegal possession of arms before being remanded to Makindye military barracks.
On Wednesday, family, friends and colleagues in the music industry gathered at Rubaga Cathedral and held a mass to pray to God to heal the legislator.
Speaking to the congregation, Itungo appreciated members of the public for standing in solidarity with the incarcerated legislator but lashed out at government for tormenting her husband.
“I condemn the brutal acts on journalists and all Ugandans by the people who are supposed to protect us .We need to pray for our country,” she said.
According to Itungo, the mass organised by musicians was done on Bobi Wine’s request to pray to God to sail him through the trying moment.
David Mpanga who represented Buganda Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayega warned government against brutalising Ugandans adding that in case of any crimes committed, they ought to be taken to courts of law.
“If they have cases to answer, let them be taken to courts of law but not beating them,”Mpanga said.
The Kampala Archdiocese Chancellor, Fr.John Mary Ssebunya who led the mass asked government to ensure proper medical attention for all the victims of the Arua chaos.

One person was last night confirmed dead in a motor accident opposite crane resort hotel Kaburengye along Kasese Mbarara Road in Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality.
The accident involved a pickup registration number UAZ844B coming from Kizinda town heading to Ishaka town and a Bajaj motorcycle registration number UEK 765R red in color heading in the opposite direction.
Martial Tumusime the greater Bushenyi police spokesperson has identified the deceased as Ronald Byamukama Kafureka, a resident of Buhuma II Buramba ward in Ishaka Division.
Police said that they are looking for the pickup driver who took off after the accident.
The passenger on the boda boda was taken to the hospital in critical conditions.
Martial blamed the accident on driving with an influence of alcohol
and over speeding.

In Rubirizi
A 62 year old resident of Mugogo ii Mugogo parish Ryeru subcounty Rubirizi district yesterday committed suicide over family problems.
The deceased Grace Bahemuka was on 21st August 2018 morning found hanging in a rope on a tree branch near her home.
Martial Tumusiime , greater Bushenyi police spokesperson confirmed the news saying that body of the deceased was taken to Lugazi health centre iv for postmortem and later handed over to the relatives for burial.
Police investigations are going on to discover the exact reason as to why she ended her life.
Martial advised the public to seek counseling in case of problems especially those related to family issues so as to reduce on the burden adding that a problem shared is a problem half solved.

Crewe Alexandra boss Dave Artell has promised his players will refund fans who travelled to Essex for Tuesday’s 6-0 defeat at Colchester.
The Railwaymen started their 2018-19 campaign with a 6-0 win at home to Morecambe, but that is their only success so far this season and Tuesday night proved a forgettable one for Artell’s side.
They conceded three goals in each half and Artell said their performance had been “utterly unacceptable” before putting the onus on his players to refund supporters.
EVERTON FC SET £28M PRICE TAG FOR WINGER ADEMOLA LOOKMAN
Everton are demanding £28m plus add-ons for Ademola Lookman to join RB Leipzig, according to Sky sources.

Sky Sports News reported on Monday that Leipzig had made a fresh £22m offer for the 20-year-old winger.
Leipzig, where Lookman impressed on loan last season, also saw a £12m offer rejected back in July.
The German side have remained keen to sign him before their August 31 transfer deadline, with manager Ralf Rangnick stating earlier this summer: “We want him back and he wants to come.”
Everton manager Marco Silva admitted last week that Lookman was unsettled but had trained well in the build-up to Saturday’s game against Southampton, where he was an unused substitute.
Silva is understood to have been impressed with the way Lookman handled being dropped altogether for the season opener against Wolves.
Silva has also said this summer that he wants to keep the player, that Lookman is the club’s “present and future”, and he was doing everything “to make him happy again”.
RB Leipzig head of recruitment Paul Mitchell – a potential candidate for Manchester United’s new technical director role – is thought to be a long-term admirer of Lookman, who joined Everton from Charlton Athletic.

‘Mbakooye’ is a Luganda word to mean “I’m fed up of them”. Unlike Eddy Kenzo’s other songs that are usually about love, party time, and life stories, ‘Mbakooye’ is a political song elaborating on the political situation prevailing in the country.
As Bobi Wine’s wounds continue to heal under remand, fellow Ugandan artistes, the general public, and the international community are doing everything possible to raise a voice against the oppression prevailing in the country.
Eddy Kenzo has resorted to using his God given talent and fame to add a voice to many with this new song.
In the song, Eddy Kenzo expresses his dissatisfaction with the parliamentarians who have constantly appeared negligent of their duties and are always mentioned in corruption scandals.
The song was produced by producer David at DMS studios. It is a song with a deep message engraved in the lyrics accompanied by traditional instruments. It is bound to receive massive airplay regarding the current political situation in the country.
NIGERIAN SINGER KOREDO BELLO TO PERFORM AT LUGOGO IN TEENS FLY FEST Nigerian singer and songwriter, Koredo Bello is returning to Uganda in a space of less than three months.

We have learnt that Koredo Bello will be performing in Uganda on the 15th of September at Lugogo Hockey Grounds during teen’s event dubbed “Fly Fest”.

The event organised by Fly will be celebrating youth voices and the “Godwin” hitmaker will headline the show.
Other artistes expected to perform at the event are Rapper Navio, Songtress Lydia Jazmine, Geosteady, Levixone, Nava Grey, Beenie Gunter among others.
In March this year, Koredo Bello was in Uganda for a charity drive with Reach A Hand Uganda.

In Kabale
Police in Kabale is investigating circumstances under which an 18 years old man was murdered.
According to Elly Maate the kigezi region police spokesperson, Niwamani Buke a boda boda rider and resident of Nyakabungo cell Nyabushabe parish Kyanamira s/c Kabale district, was found murdered at Nyakahita cell Kigongi ward Central division Kabale municipality in the morning of 21/08/18 and the motor Cycle he was riding reg no UEM 599 X bajaj boxer lying beside him in Anguzo’s compound.
The motor Cycle was given to him the previous evening by Hillary Niwagaba who stages at Pepsi depot Kigongi
Police was notified, visited the scene and the body was taken to Kabale hospital mortuary for postmortem and inquiries are underway.
