In Ibanda/Kiruhura—-
Justice and Constitution affairs Minister Kahinda Otafiire has told opposition political parties to forget removing President Museveni from office by other means rather than the ballot.
Speaking during the commissioning of Ibanda and Kiruhura Justice Centers, Otafiire said president Museveni should be allowed to work and achieve the aims of what he fought for because he is the pioneer of democracy.
Otafiire also urged Members of Parliament to allow judiciary do its work without ill will. He said negotiating with judiciary to have equitable court outcome is extremely dangerous because it may create a monster.
He further said that those MPs who want to be judges in their own case should appeal instead of thinking to punish Judiciary using the parliamentary forum.
In his speech Chief Justice Baart Katureebe said that as Judiciary they don’t like the trend that is happening because of court decision against MPs.
He said that whatever decision the MPs take against Judiciary will not hurt them because they will go back to private legal practice.
Katureebe further said that such decision will hurt the people of Uganda who would benefit from a strong judicial system
