KABAROLE WILL BE THE MODEL DISTRICT IN AGRICULTURE, TOURISM—RWABUHINGA

Kabarole district council has passed a resolution on agriculture and tourism sector development programme with 100 Million shillings from the district aimed at carrying out a feasibility study.
The motion that was moved by the district chairperson Richard Rwabuhinga and seconded by the district councilor for South division Mary Rwakyaka and District councilor Karambi Joseph Mashuhuko during a special council sitting held at the district head quarters.
According to Rwabuhinga, the program includes undertaking of feasibility study and establishment of agro industrial park, Agro-logistics hubs, loading bays and establishing fish cages and tourism sector’s development among others.
The programme will be implemented under the public private partnership arrangement by all stakeholders including government of Uganda, Kabarole district local government, civil society organizations, faith based organizations, Toro kingdom among others.
Rwabuhinga said that the project is aimed at making Kabarole a model district in agriculture modernization and tourism development.
According to the District boss, the proposed interventions for funding will be by using district resources and or as provided for in the district work plans and also carryout resource mobilization.
Magrgret Muhanga, the Mp for Burahya County said that this project will benefit the people of Kabarole through increasing on their production thus increased income.
The regional coordinator for the Operation Wealth creation Gen. Salim Sale who also attended the council promised for the total support towards the construction of the industrial park.
Kabarole district is by next financial year set to have an industrial park worth 185Mshs that will be set in Kyambogo Datic on a 100 acre land.
