Students of Mama Janet Girls’ Sec. School-Nyakyera received scholastic Materials and sanitary pads from The Gifted Hands Foundation Uganda a local Nongovernmental organization.

Speaking at the handing over of the items, Brenda Ankunda who is the country’s Project Coordinator said that they’re focusing mainly on supporting the girls to enable them study so as to become useful in future.

Ankunda a former Ruhaama county Member of Parliament contestant in 2016 advised the girls at the school to concentrate on their studies instead of getting married when they are still young, adding that marriage can come in after they have graduated .

The headmaster Kamuntu Abert thanked the team from Gifted Hands Foundation Uganda including the University students for considering Mama Janet Girls’ School to be among the beneficiaries in the country.

Over 200 students undergoing two year training in wild life and tourism management fields at Uganda wildlife training institute in Queen Elizabeth national park have said that their lives are being threatened by wild animals.

The students guild president Okello Joseph said that the Institute which is just about 100 meters away from Lake Edward is in an open area and is accessed by all categories of animals more especially at night hours.

He also complained of water supply shortage at the institute which he said puts students at risk of being grabbed by crocodiles as they look for an alternative from the Lake Edward.

The Dean of students John Turyamwesimbira said that much as the institute Administration is willing to address those challenges they are limited by the funds.

The director of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities James Lutalo advised students to know the behavior of different animal species for them to survive their attacks.

He wondered how national parks that have always been safe to tourists cannot be safe for wildlife trainees.

Mandela national stadium, Namboole management has asked Bobi Wine to get an alternative date to hold his Kyarenga concert instead of October 20.

The singer cum legislator announced he would hold a live concert headlining his latest track titled Kyarenga immediately he returned from US for specialized treatment.

However, in an October 11 letter, Jamil Ssewanyana Mpagi the Managing Director for Namboole said the that the stadium has two pre-booked events namely Uganda Athletic Federation workshop from 15th October to 26th October and a wedding ceremony on 20th October 2018when kyarenga is also to take place.

The stadium management emphasised that they had communicated the same position to Bobi Wines contact person, Yasin Kaweesi to indicate to them that the venue had already been booked for other functions.

We advise you to choose another date for your event subject to the events schedule of the stadium and event clearance by the Uganda Police Force.the letter reads in part.

Asked whether the organisers of the concert had not made any advance payments, Ssewanyana said he could only accept or deny after crosschecking with the stadium finance department.

I cant deny or accept. You ought to speak to the organisers of the concert to tell you more because we asked them to get a clearance from police but have never returned to us, the Namboole stadium Managing Director said.

It was joy that never took a long time. This was the maiden visit yesterday Sat. 13, 2018 of the Bishop of west Ankole diocese Rt Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni to St. Andrews Ngoma COU in Rwabutura archdeaconry Sheema district.

When time came to confirm 100 young Christians into Christianity, Bishop Johnson asked them questions and they never gave him the answers he expected and hence declared all of them to have failed.

Young Christians of Ngooma church of uganda in Sheema devastated after Bishop Johnson refused to confirm them into Christianity yesterday.

The mood in the church turned somber and the candidates stormed out of the church disappointed as well as parents and Christians.

This is not the first time Bishop Johnson is refusing to confirm youths into Christianity. The first incident was Rwakasinga archdeaconry immediately after he had assumed office in 2017. Johnson even demoted the archdeacon of Rwakasinga after he tried to plead for the candidates. Rev. Can Kamwerinde was posted to Bumbaire parish in Bushenyi district.

Efforts to speak to Bishop Johnson and his communications officer Mr. Zadock Amanyisa couldnot yield any results as Zadock made his phones busy and The Bishop could pick.

However, next week I will seek appointment with Bishop Johnson and my question among many will be how long will he continue disappointing young Christians?.
