IBANDA CHRISTIANS LOCK CHURCH, DEMAND TRANSFER OF CATECHISTS

Drama erupted at Bugarama Catholic Center church in Ibanda district on Sunday as the Christians who had come to attend the mass found the main entrance to the church closed.
The church was closed by some of the worshippers who blamed the leadership of Ibanda catholic parishfor postingtwo catechists from one family to head the same church. The people in question are Varerian Barugahare and his wife Fulegensiya Nayebare.
The angry Christians alleged that since the catechists come from the same village and some members belong to their clans, its difficult to solve their problems.
Rev. Fr. J.B. Turyaheebwa the parish priest has on several times warned the congregation about taking laws into their hands.
He noted that did not see the reason why they chose to lock the doors of the church and lock out the worshippers on Sunday.
Some of the worshippers opted to sit on the verandah outside the church while others decided to go back home.
