Justice and constitutional affairs minister Maj.Gen.Kahinda Otafiire has revealed that he will not interfere with police matters in the murder case of Jackson Kaginda the mutara sub-county NRM and LC111 chairman but demands for a report from Bushenyi police as soon as possible.
In a telephone interview with www.mknewslink.com editor at 2:28PM today Nov. 23, 2013, he said that despite the fact that police released all the six suspects arrested in the murder of Late Jackson Kaginda, he will not interfere with the investigations but wants a conclusive report as soon as possible.
Maj.Gen. who spoke to mk news link.com from Kampala noted that those released by police could be killers or but for him he wants the report.
Late Jackson Kaginda was murdered last month near Ishaka town on Kagamba-Kitagata-Ishaka road. He was painfully murdered and later hanged on a tree.
The released suspects were identified by police as Ashaba Umar aka Kibanda a coffee trader in Ishaka town, also his two workers were set free; Kamusiime Robert and Atwebembeire Robert aka Kagadi.
Others are Mugisha Moses aka Kanta, Masiiko Vicent and Atwijikire Anthony aka Bongini who tried to tamper with the scene of murder.
Sources at Bushenyi police station told www.mknewslink.com editor after the release of the six suspects with a prominent coffee trader one Umar Kibanda. All the six were stood surety by tycoon Hassan Basajalabalaba. He seriously influenced their release.
