KABAROLE RDC THREATENS TO CLOSE NGOs FOR EXPLOITING NEEDY

Kabarole District Resident Commissioner Asiimwe Stephen has blasted the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) operating in the district for exploiting the poor.
Kabarole district has over 50 registered NGOs but according to the District Community Development Officer Monday Christopher, only 20 are active and visible in communities.
Asiimwe said that they have already compiled the list of the non performing CSOs and are to embark on closing them down this New Year for failing to cause impact in community.
Speaking at the commissioning of Christ AID International Pre primary school (nursery) in Kicuuna , Rwengaju parish, Busoro sub county, Kabarole district, RDC strongly warned parents against irresponsible producing that results into huge number of vulnerable children hence increased crime.
The District Community Development Officer Christopher Monday asked Christ Aid to introduce skills programs to enable the unemployed youth create their own jobs.
He commended the Christ AID for the Grand Mum project of constructing those decent houses, the shs54000 monthly upkeep but asked them to increase on the medical insurance scheme since the elderly are leaving in a state of misery.
According to Grace Karungi Mugasa the Country Executive director, they are now focusing on sustainability of the projects noting that a complex building is under construction for income generation.
