Bushenyi district councilors have resolved to wait for reply from the permanent secretary ministry of education pertaining where a 1.6 billion seed school is to be located in Bumbaire sub county
Relatedly the district chairman Jaffari Bassajabalaba read out all the correspondences and assured the councilors that he has a letter from the PS confirming Kigurusi as a site for construction of 1.6 billion seed school
The district council chaired by Justine Burisadi resolved that the school be constructed at Kigurusi however the ministry and other stake holders chose and approved Kabushaho site.
The PS ministry of education on 7th Dec.2018 published an advert calling for contractors to take up the responsibility of building a school at Kabushaho secondary school.
Still, the above angered Jaffari and some of his members which forced them to travel to Kampala to negotiate that the school should be set up at Kigurusi as the council had resolved but not Kabushaho
Kabushaho is a functioning secondary school which was restarted by Michael Mawanda Maranga in collaboration with West Ankole so that the sub county could get a government aided school.
Kabushaho was closed in 1992 by the then minister of education Amanya Mushega.
In the district council that is ongoing now 18th Jan.2019, only 8 councilors voted for the school to be established at Kabushaho whereas the majority voted in favor of Kigurusi.
Kigurusi land is owned by Kigurusi farmers group therefore it would be illegal for the government to construct there a school.
