The charges stem from the violent demonstration on 18th October 2018 where police blocked them from accessing Rukungiri stadium for a planned consultative meeting which led to chaos, that resulted in the death of one Edison Nimusiima alias Kakuru, and injuring of two police officers, AP John Barugahare and Constable Donovico Twinamatsiko.
They are also accused of unlawfully damaging police vehicle registration number UP 2168 and holding unlawful, assembly without permission.
Separately, Ingrid Turinawe, Atuhairwe Nicholas and over 40 others again appeared in court on another case of inciting violence while organizing prayers and Thanksgiving for Edson Kakuru and other victims.
