Masindi municipality mayor, Joab Businge has ordered government primary school head teachers to initiate projects which will facilitate the titling of school land.
The mayors instruction follows the growing conflicts between the school administrators and the neighbours who encroach on school land
Addressing primary school head teachers at Masindi Municipal chambers during the official release of PLE exams, Businge ordered the primary school head teachers to sit with the school management committee members and come up with projects which are aimed at land titling
Most of the schools in Masindi municipality are embroiled in land conflicts accruing from unclear boundaries.
Some of the primary schools which are embroiled in land conflicts include; Kamurasi demo primary school, Kisanja primary school, Biizi primary school, Kigulya primary school and Nyakatooke primary school.
Businge advised the school administrators and managers to ensure that they prioritize this saying that for them as a municipality they have a lot of land to title which makes it difficult to help schools in titling their lands.
A teacher who spoke on condition of anonymity said that it may be hard to be achieved since some of the schools have meager resources.
