In the 2018 O level results that were released today afternoon by UNEB, st. Kana international school a newly started secondary school situated in Kashoozi Nyabubale sub-county Bushenyi district excelled in the exams on its first sitting.
According to the director of the school Mr. Naboth Kajungu, 16 students came in grade one and 19 in second grade.
He told www.mknewslink.com editor while beginning the drive to celebrate the exams in Butare Kyamuhunga town council that the school will continue to perform well because he has the best teachers and other resources.
This is our first sitting of UNEB exams and our results are good. I hope that this makes a good beginning and foundation. We shall continue to excel Kajungu revealed.

In Masindi.
The 33 rd NRM celebrations which were held yesterday in Masindi district turned into a political ground where most of the politicians who attended the function declared their political interests in different positions.
The belated celebrations were held yesterday at Kyatiri primary school in Kyatiri town council Masindi district.
The opportunity for the politician to declare their interests came about after Cosmas Byaruhanga the Masindi district LCV invited all people vying for different posts to have a word to say to the public, the politicians also never hesitated to utilize the opportunity.
Five people showed interest for Buruli Parliamentary seat and they include: Martin Kahwa Isaac a journalist also station manager Bunyoro Broadcasting Services (BBS), Jonathan Akweteireho retired journalist and also Deputy RDC Amolatar District, Alled Akugizibwe a secondary school teacher at Budo college SS, Kanaginagi Ateenyi the district councilor Pakanyi sub county also vice chairperson NRM Masindi district and Bintu Jalia Lukumu the woman MP Masindi district Mary Mujumura the deputy speaker Masindi district council also district female councilor Bwijanga Sub County announced her interest to contest for the district chairperson seat in forth coming elections, Julian Ayesiga Sarah the district councilor for Miirya Sub County also showed her interest to stand for woman MP seat , Kenneth Kiiza Nyendwoha the chairperson LC3 Budongo sub county showed interest to stand for MP Bujeneje County.

Zirubaberi Nyira the Member of Parliament for Buruli County where the function was held did not show up something which generated heated discussions among the electorates.
The masindi Resident District Commissioner Godfrey Nyakahuma hailed the Masindi district LCV chairperson for giving an opportunity to the people vying for different post saying that this is the democracy they need. He added that this entire conducive environment has been brought about by the NRM government.
However, Ernest Kiiza the state minister for Bunyoro affairs who also officiated as a chief guest warned them against early politicking noting that they still have two years to serve but if they keep running up and down they may end up not serving the peoples interests.

In Bushenyi
The censure of Bushenyi district chairman Jafari Basajabalaba has died out without making it to the floor of Bushenyi district council.
Sources from the censure group at one time revealed that they had raised 13 signatures out of 32 but after allegedly attaining that number the talk vanished.
Mr. chairman Basajabalaba told www.mknewslink.com editor today morning that some councilors wanted to withdrawl their signatures because the they now claim the issues they had can be amicably be discussed without necessarily going for censure.
The chairman added that more details can be got from the speaker of the district Justine Burisadi over how the censure has died out
Mr. Jafari also noted that he is willing to reconcile with the councilors in case the notice that he over stepped on their mandate.
Two weeks ago, Bushenyi district was overshadowed by a censure motion aimed at removing their district chairman but all over sudden it died a natural death.
In Mitooma district one of the most popular chairmen in the region Benon Karyaija Boneza was censured two years ago but challenged his censure in the court of appeal. His vice chairman is now serving as district chairman.

Health workers in Ibanda district who have the habit of making
themselves absent without permission from duty have been cautioned as they will face Ministry of health disciplinary committee.
The District Health Officer, Dr. Julius Bamwine told www.mknewslink.com that some workers who make themselves absent from duty and only report at the end of the month to get their salaries will be sucked by the Ministry.
Dr. Bamwine also cautioned some workers who continue to give corporal punishments to patients such as beating, abusing them before attendants and even throw away their beddings which makes
patients run away from the health centers before they complete
their treatment or being discharged.
“Why should health workers especially the midwives or nurses and
others workers misuse their professional ethics when there are several
methods to report such rude patients to high authorities to be
handled”? Dr. Bamwine said.
Dr. Bamwine said several expectant mothers who have been admitted in
maternity wards and babies in Toto wards experience mistreatment and are more likely to suffer multiple health complications due to intimidation having internal bleeding and even can get miscarriages.
The district officials and stakeholders have had several consultative
meetings with the health workers to ensure the vice is greatly
reduced.

Ibanda district.
Residents of Kabira village in Kanyansheko parish in Ibanda
Municipality Council have raised concern over the increasing cases of
witchcraft, the suspects are using magic and herbal medicines to
bewitch their children, newly married women and even their husbands.
According to the District resident Commissioner, Ibanda, Mr. Eliasto
Akatuheebwa, the angry mob from Kabira village organized themselves
and forced Ms. Dinah Kakyerebete aged 56 suspected to have been
practicing witchcraft and set a blaze her house ,kitchen and pit
latrine to ashes. The angry residents also armed with pangas and
sticks destroyed her four acres banana plantation by cutting it
down and left completely destroyed, the residents accused Kakyerebete for conniving with other groups after paying them money to take the alleged herbal medicines to some homes of people who have family wrangles by mixing it in food ,drinking water or porridge.
“These local residents found me near my home and started beating me. I tried to escape, but I was over powered and they threatened either to kill me or plunge me into a nearby pond of
water ,they tied my hands back ,started beating me, kicking and set a
blaze on my house and kitchen while others were busy cutting my 4
acres of bananas with pangas and hoes” Kakyerebete said while shading
tears.
The residents appealed to the District Resident Commissioner, Mr.
Eliasto Akatuheebwa and the government to take a way this lady to
another place and declared that she is no longer a resident of their area.
Mr. Akatuheebwa told www.mknewslink.com that Kanyansheko,Kagongo
,Keihangaaara, kihani and Kashangura areas have registered the highest
crimes of witchcraft . He warned the residents not to the laws in their hands ,but asked them to report such cases to police.
Police have not yet arrested any suspects by press time.
