BUSHENYI: TWO NTUNGAMO MEN REMANDED IN NYAMUSHEKYERA FOR STEALING VEHICLE NUMBER PLATES

Magistrate’s Court in Bushenyi has today remanded two men on charges of stealing vehicle number plates and obtaining money by false pretence.
Court led by Her worship Jane Mugara heard that on different occasions while in Lwengo, mbarara and greater Bushenyi the accused Tumwesigye Ronald Bataringaya alias Nyabagwende 42 years and Kamusiime Derrick 19 years both residents of Ntungamo district stole vehicle number plates.
It heard that the two after removing number plates they would leave a phone number for the owner to contact them in order to retrieve their number plates.
According to exhibits presented in court, the two were found with two vehicle number plates UAG/234S belonging to Namugira Naume and UAN/104K belonging to Kateeba Joseph.
While testifying in court Namugira Naume one of the victims said that they demanded for 70,000 sh to bring back her number plate.
The accused have been remanded to Nyamushekyera govt prison till 28th/3/2019.
