The speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga has been airlifted to the Kenyan capital, Nairobi for further specialized attention at Aga Khan Hospital.

The speakers principal assistant press secretary, Sam Obbo confirmed the development to media on Saturday noon.

Obbo said that the decision to transfer the 62 year old lawmaker from Nakasero hospital Kampala to Aga khan hospital Nairobi was based on the advice from doctors in Kampala.

Upon the advice of her doctors, the speaker of parliament Rt. Hon Kadaga has been transferred to the Aga Khan in Nairobi for more treatment, said Obbo.

He added that the speaker is in stable condition and recuperating.

The speaker of parliament was rushed to Nakasero hospital on Thursday night in critical condition.
Madam is hospitalised at the said hospital (Nakasero Hospital), she had just returned from long trips abroad the Arab world and most recently, United States of America, said Obbo when contacted on phone yesterday morning.

Mary Karooro Okurut, the Minister in charge of General Duties in the Office of Prime Minister has said that NRM legislators had credible reasons for supporting the sole candidature of President Yoweri Museveni for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party in 2021 elections.
According to Karooro, Museveni has since 1986 helped Uganda to experience positive changes that serve him a better reward than even supporting his leadership.
“It is undoubtedly real if we say that Museveni is heaven sent for Ugandans. His leadership has seen this country achieve a lot in all aspects and thus we cannot just loose him like that,” said Karooro.
She was speaking as the Chief Guest at the Kabale district belated Womens day celebrations.
The event took place at Kabanyonyi primary school playground in Buhara Sub-county, Ndorwa East Constituency, Kabale district.
Karooro blasted opposition politicians who are against the NRMs decision saying that they lack the moral authority to criticise a decision taken by a party they do not belong to.
“I hear some opposition politicians saying that NRM is not democratic for endorsing Museveni for 2021. Since when did the opposition start deciding for NRM? If they do not like Museveni, let them send in their candidates in the general elections and we defeat them as usual,” she said.
She further urged women to form associations if they are to benefit from government in their development ventures

Masheruka town council Sheema district alleged corrupt officials on 21st March 2019 faced it rough at the hands of the RDC Frank Kyereere.
The officials in question include Dianah Namara Town Clerk, Tugume Charles Nkuruho the Mayor, Byaruhanga Tarsis Town council engineer and Karingo Mustafa the accountant.
According to Tumusiime Julius Nyakambu ward councillor also the chairperson works committee Masheruka town council, on 2nd January 2019 got 30 million shillings for roads which include Kitookye – Masheruka, Nyakambu – Ruyonza, Katooma – Kanyeganyegye, but up to now ,some roads have not been worked on and those claimed to have been worked on were faked.
When asked by the RDC to give accountability, the town clerk Dianah said that they used 18 millions and that they have 10 millions on the town council’s bank account, but failed to present the bank documents.
The Engineer claimed that the grader got mechanic problem and they had to borrow one from Mbarara local government which took a lot of money.
However the officials could not reveal where the money meant for buying murram was and the exact bank balance which forced RDC to order town clerk and her colleagues to present those documents within two days.
The mayor Charles Tugume Nkuruho was tasked to account for 1.64 million which Kellen Karyamarwaki chairperson finance committee Masheruka town council said they collected from villages to build a public toilet in Kanyeganyegye town.
Nkuruho replied that they paid a debt of 800000 which was on their neck and used the rest to develop the town council, but Atuhaire Alex the assistant accountant said that they have 1.64 million shillings in their safe assuring the RDC that he had the keys in case he wanted to confirm.
However when asked to present the keys, Alex said that the money was that morning taken by the accountant Mustafa Karingo that therefore there was no money.
This contradiction between the mayor and accountant annoyed RDC and Councilors who ordered them to sit in a car so that they could take them to police.
The town clerk requested the RDC not to arrest them; she entered into a room with the accountant and in few minutes they came out with money.
It was also discovered that the biggest part out of 76 million shillings Masheruka Town council works department gets every year ends in few individual’s stomachs since there is no work done and no balance of un used money nor clear documents showing how money was spent.

A section of councilors in Fort Portal municipality have drafted a motion to impeach the council speaker Gilbert Kayondo over incompetency.
Over 15 councilors led by Faith Nyakairu called for Kayondos resignation after it was found out that he is sidelining with the executive to give false accountability to the people.
According to the local government act rules of procedure, the office of the speaker is supposed to impartial, and its holder is not supposed to take sides with the executive.
Nyakairu said that the speakers move has affected the integrity of the office of speakership and that Kayondo has lost the moral integrity of being a Speaker.
Councillors also condemned what they called wasteful expenditure by the municipal council and asked the inspector general of government to investigate some officials.
However on a phone call, Kayondo denied all the allegations against him and said that he had not committed any crime for him to leave the office.
Fort Portal municipality council has of recent been engulfed in a lot of controversies which have left some of the officials interdicted over corruption.
Recently, the physical planner Fort Portal Municipal Council, Olivia Bahwayo Busobozi, was interdicted over 10 million bribery scandal.
According to the interdiction letter written by the Town Clerk Fort Portal Municipal Council, Godfrey Bamanyisa, it is alleged that Busobozi solicited a bribe of 10 million shillings from Don Uganda Limited so that she approves the physical plans for the construction of a fuel station along Tibeyalirwa Road in Fort Portal municipality.

The grade one magistrates court in Fort portal yesterday granted a none cash bail of 3M to each of the six members of the Seventh day Adventist western Uganda field who were arrested on Tuesday for assaulting their 51 year old bishop Samuel Mwebaze .
The accused are; Kakwezi Joshua, Kihumuro Jonathan, Mugenyi Amos, Kahebwa Bob, and Kakwezi Julius
Court presided over by her worship Namayanja Naziba heard that on 19th day of March 2019 at Moldina Street in Fort portal municipality, the duos that were carrying sticks and rowdy assaulted bishop Samuel, other top church leaders accusing them of misuse of church funds, immorality , disrespect and tribalism.
Court also heard that the six and others at large stormed the office of the SDA Western Uganda field, twisted the bishops hands, and gave him several strokes and moved away with the office Keys which they took to police.
However when reading the case to them, the suspects denied the allegations put to them.
The case was adjourned to 9th October 2019 for further hearing and if found guilty, they will be charged with assault.
