Journalists in Sheema district have been asked to always sensitize the mass against religious differences and segregation.
The call was made by Dr Annet Mugisha Katookye Brendah, one the three giants in Sheema district who have so far shown their interest to stand against woman MP Atuhaire Jacklet Rwabukurukuru in 2020

I have been following the political religious differences in Sheema district, to me it is the worst habit on earth because we were all created by one God and remember He didn’t create any religion, therefore harassing your brother or sister because of religion is so bad, ‘bambi ‘ journalists U’re our eyes, sensitise our people to say No to religion segregation, Annet noted
According to Annet, she has moved a lot across the world and met many things which Sheema lacks thus wants to stand so that she can implement these ideas.
She added that if Sheema district get a good leader like her, in few years to come, it will become a City with no doubt.
Dr Annet Mugisha is a medical laboratory officer at ministry of health since last year in 2018.
She previously worked as a laboratory advisor in Uphia project under the ministry of health from 2017 – 018, and also served as the president of Uganda medical laboratory technology association for three years.
Other giants interested in the same seat include former Sheema district woman MP Hon Nyakikongoro Rosemary, and Sharron Mpaka.

In Mbarara

Police in Mbarara have arrested 12 students of Ngabo academy school on charges of assault and malicious damage.
The Rwizi regional spokes person Samson Kasasira said that the students were arrested following an attack on Mbarara institute for social development (MISD) last night.
Kasasiira said that, at least 8 students of MISD got injuries and those seriously injured are now receiving treatment at Ruharo mission Hospital in Mbarara, while those with minor injuries were admitted at the institutions clinic.
The police mouthpiece added that two Institute vans were also destroyed.
John Tuwangye, the director Mbarara Institute for Social Development said that they were attacked when the students were in the evening prayers.
He said that they had no grudge with Ngabo Academy School but he is surprised to find a secondary school attacking a technical institution.

It was sanctioned by Parliament through its investigative committee- COSASE that DFCU bank unlawfully and fraudulently took over Crane Bank in 2017, which belonged to billionaire Sudhir Raprelia.
The controversial sale by Bank of Uganda hinged on claims that Crane Bank was grossly insolvent and couldnt be recapitalized.but rather sold.
Bank of Uganda officials superintended by the former Executive Director in Charge of Supervision, Justice Bagyenda then sourced for a bank that would buy off the liabilities and assets of Crane Bank.
The deal was signed in January 2017 after BoU claimed it had injected shs 480 billion as the bank was under receivership, a statement which COSASE investigators poked holes as shs 270 billion sunk in Crane Bank couldnt be traced.
The hostile takeover of Crane Bank, triggered a through audit by the Auditor General Mr. John Muwanga whose findings on sale of 7 private banks left Ugandans wondering why Bank of Uganda would opt to suffocate someones business, particularly Crane Bank.
Against Mr. Muwangas report, Kadaga instructed Hon Abdul Katuntu to make more investigations on the closure of the seven financial institutions.
More dirt was unearthed by COSASE in its report and made many recommendations, including penalizing BoU officials who were found reliable for the mess of seven banks and also compensate the Banks owners.
The Seven Banks closed fraudulently by the Central Bank include Teefe, Uganda Cooperative Union, Global Trust, Crane Bank, National Bank of Commerce Greenland.
The Central Bank administration failed to raise inventory reports of most of the banks it closed and therefore, investigators were unable to value their assets and liabilities.
On the case of Crane Bank, in assuming its operations, DFCU didnt negotiate the acquiring of its Bad Loan Book as a liability.
Usually when taking over a liquidated bank, the buyer does through analysis on its liabilities so as to negotiate with the regulator which liabilities to reject or take.
One of the factors Bank of Uganda raises that catapulted to the closure of Crane Bank was the under performing loans that resulted to liquidity crisis at Crane Bank.
However, as a requirement, Sudhir had deposited over shs 200 billion as security which was used to clear depositors.
This means, Sudhirs account in Bank of Uganda has been eroded and he could only recover the money through accessing the bad loan book.
It is assumed that borrowers staked securities as they sought loans from Crane Bank and had agreement to certain terms in the event that they failed to service their loans.
Sudhir then was supposed to sell securities to recover his cash.
However, this website learnt that on orders of BoU deputy Governor Mr. Louis Kasekende and Director Justine Bagyenda, DFCU hid the bad book.
The narrative is that the two parties dont want Sudhir to recover his money by selling loan securities, or DFCU colluding with BoU have been using the bad book to access security and selling them off secretly.
His efforts to request DFCU to return the book have been unsuccessful.
In our investigation, we established that Mr. Ruparelia can legally drag DFCU and BoU together to Court as an avenue of recovering the Bad Book.
Sudhir can out rightly base on COSASE report and sue DFCU and Bank of Uganda.
The grounds are; that as legislature, Parliament is recognizable arm of government that makes laws.
Therefore, such a competent institution poking holes in DFCU and BoU is evident enough that the institutions managers can be held culpable.
Also, following the findings and recommendations of Parliament, because it doesnt enforce the law but rather makes the law, several law enforcement agencies like DPP, IGG, CIID should have taken over the the matter of DFCU and BoU and launch fresh investigations and prosecute those found guilty.
In that regard, Sudhir can instruct his legal team to pursue the same channel by lodging a petition demanding DFCU to return shs 570 billion Bad Loan Book.

In Rukungiri

Police in Rukungiri are investigating circumstances under which a 35 year old was man died.
The body of Julius Turyagumanawe was on Monday morning found lying down at half London trading Centre along Rwerere Kinyamahwa Road.
Turyagumanawe who hailed from Muhanga in Rukiga district was a casual laborer working for Esawo Nuwamanya a resident of Kagarama cell, Kahoko parish in Nyakagyeme sub-county.
Residents suspect that he died due to excessive alcohol consumption.
The Rukungiri district police commander, Moses Nanoka confirmed the death of Turyagumanawe and appealed to residents to always regulate alcohol intake, too much of which he said comes with increased crime rate.
By press time,Turyagumanawe’s body was lying at Rwakabengo Health Centre 3 in Rukungiri municipality, awaiting a postmortem.

The RDC Frank Kyereere yesterday advised Kabwohe Boda Boda cyclists to always first check the passengers they carry in order to reduce the rampant killings of Bodaboda cyclists.
The angry RDC said all these while meeting cyclists after more than four Kabwohe Bodaboda cyclists have been killed and their motorcycles taken away by un known goons within one week.
“The only advice I give you is, before you carry any passenger, first check his or her luggage and his pockets, and if one refuses to be checked, then call police or co workmates ,check his or her forcefully, because we have learnt that these rampant killings are increased by the passengers you usually fight for,” RDC
The DPC Sheema district SP Birungi Scovia advised the Bodaboda men not to trust anybody especially during night.
Abel Kahara Atucungwiire Mayor Sheema municipality alleged that the goons who torture the Bodaboda cyclists may be staying in Kabwohe and most probably their fellow Bodaboda cyclists.
However, cyclists were wondering whether what the RDC advised them would be possible.
“Where are we going to get time to check passengers, which passenger will allow you to check him or her?” Bodaboda cyclists wondered.
The cyclists also refused the idea of working only during the day explaining that they earn too much money at night.

Four people have sued the Justice Catherine Bamugemereire-led Land Probe Commission over illegal arrests.
Annette Natukunda, Irene Akiteng, Immaculate Ayebazibwe and Elly Ampurire were arrested last month on March 12, when the commission invaded Prime Housing Estates offices in Masooli, Wakiso district.
The company is owned and managed by Ruta Ngambwa, a businessman who has been cited in several cases of land grabbing.
The applicants allege that they were arrested and put on a waiting vehicle with a private number plate which took them around Kampala until they were driven to Bamugemereires residence in Buwaate, from where they were taken to Najeera police station and later to the Commissions offices in Wandegeya.
Natukunda, Ngambwas wife was reportedly tasked to explain the whereabouts of her husband before being taken back home for a search. She alleges that the commission ignored her pleas to allow her pick her children from school during the time of the arrest.
The four were allegedly detained at Central Police Station save for Ampurire who was taken to Wandegeya police station where they each spent three days on charges of withholding information. They were granted police bond on March 14.
They now say that their arrest was illegal and are demanding a declaration that the commission acted out of its capacity and power when it caused their arrest and detention without trial. They are also seeking an order to be compensated for general and punitive damages.
According to documents before the Civil Division of the High court, the charges are filed against Justice Bamugemereire and nine others including the commissioners of the commission and their secretary, Dr Douglas Singiza.
The respondents have been summoned to file their defence within fourteen days before the matter is allocated for hearing.
