A police officer has today afternoon been arrested in connection to the gruesome murder of two people along the Kampala-Entebbe Expressway last night.
The police preliminary findings of the shooting reveal that the victims were; Maya Florence Kamikazi a Rwandan national, and Joshua Ntereyiho Rushegyera a business man.
The arrested officer PC Davis Taremwa according to Fred Enanga the police spokesperson was last night approached by the late Joshua in friendly terms from hidden treasure hotel requesting him to escort them to Millenium hotel in Zana for a business appointment and three of the drove off together.
Enanga said during a press brief that circumstances surrounding the deceased’s movement from Millenium hotel to where they were shot are still unclear.
The fallen Joshua Rushegyera is a son to the later Mzee Eliyazali Rushegyera, and a nephew to president Museveni.
as he was born to Mzee Rushegyera by his wife Joyce Rushegyera who was a sister to the president.
The Late Eliyazali Rushegyera also greatly supported the FRONASA and NRA war by providing logistical support and tireless mobilization for the bush war between 1981-85.

The young star comedian from Mark Angel, Emmanuella has arrived in Kampala and is set to perform to the crowd on Saturday 7th this weekend alongside other talented Ugandan young stars and comedians.

The Nigerian comedian came to Uganda on Wednesday 4th September 2019, and she has promised to meet a Ugandan youngster musician, Fresh Kid.
Emmanuella who is praised by Ugandans fresh Kid as a role model will share the same stage with the Banteeka fame child who is currently rocking the air waves of African media and the world at large.

Emmanuella, 9 years old is escorted by the crew from mark angel comedy who include; Success, Mark, and K Brown.

It is confirmed according to the management of Serena Hotel and Freedom city where the shows will take place on the 7th and 8th of september 2019 respectively.

Mark Angel believed to be the mentor of Emmanuella will also grace the Kampala comedy night together with Ugandan stars such as Spice Diana, Rovin SanyU, B2c, Maulana N Reign, Daxx Kartel and Moze Bank

The famous awarding wining Triplets aka the Ghetto kids are also confirmed to be the official dance group for the event.

Robert Mugabe, the founding father of Zimbabwe who ruled the country with an iron fist for more than three decades, has died at 95 years, according to President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Rumors had swirled around the health of the ex-president, who spent months in a hospital in Singapore earlier this year. Details of what ailed him were a closely guarded secret.
Mugabe who infamously claimed that “only God” could ever remove him from office — was deposed in a coup in 2017, when members of his own party turned against him after he dismissed then Vice-president Emmerson Mnangagwa to make way for his wife, Grace.
Mnangagwa would go on to become Zimbabwe’s next president.
“It is with the utmost sadness that I announce the passing on of Zimbabwe’s founding father and former President, Cde Robert Mugabe,” tweeted Mnangagwa on Friday.
“Cde Mugabe was an icon of liberation, a pan-Africanist who dedicated his life to the emancipation and empowerment of his people. His contribution to the history of our nation and continent will never be forgotten. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”

once touted internationally as the hope of his nation, Mugabe left office with a grim legacy, after waging a campaign of oppression and violence to maintain power, and driving into poverty a country once known as the breadbasket of southern Africa.
He began his political career as a leader in the quest for the independence of Zimbabwe then known as Rhodesia and was regularly compared to South Africa’s venerated freedom fighter Nelson Mandela.
As a revolutionary guerrilla leader, he fought white-minority rule and spent years in jail as a political prisoner.
After 10 years in prison, he earned university degrees in education, economics and law from the University of London. In the mid-70s, he assumed leadership of the political wing of the Zimbabwe African National Union (ZANU-PF), a militant liberation movement based in Mozambique.
From there, he helped orchestrate an armed resistance against white rule, emerging as a war hero both at home and abroad when the conflict ended in 1979.
He became the first prime minister of the newly independent Zimbabwe after elections in February 1980.
Articulate and smartly dressed, Mugabe came to power commanding the respect of a nation. He had a strong head start, inheriting a country with a stable economy, solid infrastructure and vast natural resources.
His hardline policies drove the country’s flourishing economy to disintegrate after a program of land seizures from white farmers, and agricultural output plummeted and inflation soared.
By 1983, it became clear that Mugabe’s administration would be merciless to any one opposing his rule. He presided over forces that carried out a string of massacres in opposition strongholds, and the country’s Fifth Brigade is believed to have killed up to 20,000 people, mostly supporters of Mugabe’s main political rival.

In Buhweju—
Buhweju Residents dealing in artisanal Gold mining stormed the office of the RDC protesting the alleged closure of small scale mining activities in the district by mineral police.
Carrying placards inscribed on different words, residents presented a petition to the acting RDC Darious Kusasira calling on the president to prevail over government officials who have stopped them from accessing their traditional source of livelihood.
In the petition the Artisans alleged that mineral police deployed in the area are harassing and chasing them from their mines without notice, sensitization and negotiations.
The chairman Buhweju artisanal and small scale miners Edmund Ngabirano said that artisans want the president to rescue them from such state of emergence which has paralyzed them and may cause loss of household incomes of many families in Buhweju district.
The district chairman Asiimwe John together with area MP Francis Mwijukye accused the mineral police for not involving the local leadership in the affairs that concern the people they represent yet government which put them in place to foster service delivery cherish their importance.
Residents later on unanimously agreed to go back to their mines after one week as long as government does not respect their interests.
On 3rd August 2018 the Ministry of energy and mineral development deployed mineral police in Buhweju district to stop illegal gold mining practices in the area.
Kafureka Isaac Kanzira the mineral police zonal commander for Ankole region said that they halted mining activities such that artisans can acquire necessary documents needed for exploration because majority of them are not licenced.
Commenting on concerns that they have not involved local leaders in their operations, Kafureka said that they only have to report to central police in the district and also advised those claiming to have been tortured by mineral police to register their complaints with police in order for justice to prevail.

In Mitooma—
Fallen Crane radio Presenter and salesman Caleb Rugumire was on Thursday laid to rest at their home in Mitooma district.
The deceased who passed on Tuesday at around 9:30pm was buried in Nshenga Village Mitooma town council.
Mourners commended Caleb for his exceptional friendship and good characters.
The widow Phionah Rugumire told mourners that her loving husband whom she had just stayed with died with a lot of pain adding, they tried all medicines and hospitals in vain.
Manager Crane radio Joselyne Nuwagaba Kategaya told mourners that she has lost an employee who exhibited commitment and hard work.
Elly Rugumire, the father of the late Caleb told mourners that his son was loved by everybody in the whole village because of his good characters and praised his daughter-in-law for looking after his son until the last minute.
The burial was attended by hundreds of mourners in different dignitaries who included western media fraternity, Chairman LCIII Mitooma town Council, a representative of Capt. Donozio Kahonda and Jova Kamateeka, the Mitooma district woman member of parliament.

Joshua Ntereho Rushegyera son to the late Mzee Eliyazali Rushegyera was last night Thursday, September 5 shot and killed with other two people along the Kampala-Entebbe Expressway.

Preliminary investigations by the police show that Rushegyera Ntereho Joshua a body guard was shot alongside his boss Princess Kamikazi a Rwandan national and another person by unidentified assailants along the Kampala-Entebbe Expressway.

Kampala Metropolitan police deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire without giving details confirmed the gruesome killing and said that security forces have started investigating the circumstances of the unfortunate incident
Rushegyera according to reports has been a resident of Katabi, Mpala while his bosss residence is yet to be known.
The two victims were found mortally shot inside a Land Cruiser registration number UAW 534B while another one was lying in the middle of the road.
Investigators suspect the killing may have been carried out by someone from inside the car.
Despite several arrests, and installation of security Cameras, questions continue to swirl over who or what is behind the spate of murders.
Mr. Museveni recently said Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels are responsible.
His ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) has traded blame with the main opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC).
Politicial analysts suggest the crime wave could be a manifestation of the widening gap between rich and poor, coupled with widespread corruption.
Those who experienced the insecurity across Uganda in the 1970s and 1980s credit Museveni with ensuring their safety in the decades that followed.
With the recent spike in urban crime, however, he is seen in some quarters to be losing his grip on national security.
