The community and leadership of Bushenyi district has mourned for the death of their fallen Health Inspector Jacob Wamale Steven whose life perished in an accident on 24^th Oct 2019 along Ishaka- Mbarara road.

The mass to pay last respect to Steven was held at Bushenyi Municipal Council hall today 24^th Oct 2019.

Speaking as the sister to the late during the mass, one Dorothy described him as a cooperative man who was committed to his work.

The deputy town clerk Bushenyi Municipality Didas Muhanguzi also described Steven a person who has been so had working because he has been serving in many positions.

Fallen Jacob Wamale Steven served in Bushenyi District local government for over 20years.

He served as a health assistant from 2005 up to 2015 when he was promoted as a Health Inspector till yesterday when he died.

Steven’s body will be laid to rest in Bududa District on Saturday 26^th Oct.2019.

According to the postmortem that was done at Kampala International University Hospital by Dr. Hawa Nalwoga, Steven died as the result of multiple injuries and over breeding after the accident.

National Agriculture research organization through its branch of Namulonge research institute has waged a war on fall armyworm pest by engaging into sensitization of farmers all over the country.

These and many more were revealed today 24^th 0ct.2019 at Nyabubare sub county head quarters in Bushenyi district when officials from Namulonge agriculture institute were interacting with farmers on how to have a  well interpreted  runyankole  rukiga version of the fall army worm pest.

According to Solomon Kaboyo a research assistant at Namulonge, today’s meeting with farmers was aimed at having a well translated runyankole rukiga brochure which will thereafter be used by farmers to fight the disease.

Kaboyo added that fall armyworm is a dangerous pest that attacks mainly maize bananas, millet among others and it originated from America.

He also said that after a fine translated runyankole version they will come back and sensitise farmers on types of pesticides they should use to kill the fall army worm.

He noted that the fine Runyankole translated version has been done in Bushenyi district as pilot for Ankole and Kigezi regions

The Bushenyi –Ishaka Municipality health inspector was last night killed in a fatal accident that happened on 24^th Oct 2019 at around 12:15am.

The deceased identified as Steven Wamale aged 51 who was riding a Motorcycle Reg.No UEV 886K from Ishaka to Bushenyi at night collided with vehicle reg.no UAT 672W Primo, according to police.

The accident which occurred at St. Kagwa along Ishaka- Mbarara killed Wamale on Spot.

The Greater Bushenyi police spokes person SP Martial Tumusiime confirmed the incident alleging that Wamale was driving recklessly under the influence of alcohol.

The body of the deceased has been taken to Kampala International University hospital in Ishaka for postmortem as inquiries are under way.

Both the vehicle and motorcycle are being held at Greater Bushenyi Police station.

The unidentified driver of the motor vehicle is on the run.

A woman who was accused of defiling three boys of the same family in Bushenyi was yesterday committed to high court for trial on charges of aggravated defilement.

Court sitting in Bushenyi, presided over by Grade one Magistrate Asanasius Mukobi committed Adrine Kyomugisha 23 years for allegedly defiling three juveniles.

According to Godffrey Niwagaba aka Bagudu, the father of the boys, Kyomugisha was performing sex acts on his boys between ages 09, 11 and 12 all pupils of Rwatukwire primary school.

Bagudu said that medical examinations taken from Bushenyi health Centre IV and Kyeizooba farmer’s clinic in Bushenyi town proved that his sons were defiled and infected with HIV virus.

Adrine Kyomugisha was arrested in July 2019.
