Bushenyi Ishaka Municipal Residents led by Western Ankole Civil Society Forum staged a peaceful demonstration riding on boda bodas with vuvuzellas.

Demonstrators spent about 8 minutes in the compound of the Municipality sounding Vuvuzellas without stopping and talking to anyone and shortly left, rode back to their offices of WASCOF.

www.mknewslink.com talked to CEO Western Ankole Civil Society Forum Apollo Lee Kakonge, he revealed that it is the four day activity and they will end on Thursday but tomorrow they will issue a statement detailing their demands and the staff who are corrupt at the municipality.

He asserted that they will not stop demonstrating until all the corrupt officials are eliminated from the municipality offices.

Sources told www.mknewslink.com that the most implicated corrupt staff include Municipal treasurer Jackson Muhwezi Beyendeza and Roberto the municipal procurement officer.

Among the demonstrators included Speaker Nyakabirizi Division Mackay Twijukye. He also moved around with the vuvuzella with residents and boda boda cyclists.

Speaking to www.mknewslink.com managing editor on phone, the municipal deputy town clerk Didas Muhanguzi said that the demonstrators should bring their issues to the municipal authorities and be addressed.

Ugandans have been tipped on desisting from land fragmentation if they are to maximize on their household income.

The call was made yesterday  by Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi, the vice president of republic of Uganda representing H. E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni while Officiating the fundraisingtowards the bishop annual appeal fund (BAAF) at Rushoroza Cathedral grounds in Kabale municipality kabale district.

The fundraising was intended to track funds of building a 2.5billions multipurpose church office block for saving the diocese funds and will be allocated in kabale town.

Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi commended the diocese for the project which he said will ease the church’s work.

He pledged 100 million Uganda shillings, to help in kick starting the foundation for the office block.

162 millions shillings were collected from Kisoro, 65 millions from Rukiga, 98 millions from Kanungu, 111 from Rukungiri and 25 millions from Rubanda districts.

At the event, over ug shs 1.6 billions was raised towards the project both in cash and pledges.

The diocesan Bishop, Callist Rubaramira, noted that fundraising for the project, is an act of togetherness and love for God and the diocese.

The fundraising function was attended by several MPs, ministers, bankers, and Kampala businessmen hailing from Kigezi.

There was drama in Kakoma, Nyabubare Kizinda town council as a man had refused to bury his biological son following the mysterious circumstances surrounding his death.

The deceased identified as Collins Kamanzi, a S.6 student was doing his UACE Examinations at Nyabubaare Secondary School.

The deceased has been living with his mother Rovinah Ntegyerize self-Proclaimed prophet who separated with her husband Didas Baguma 10 years ago and formed a prophetic church in Kizinda Town council Bushenyi district.

Didas Baguma, the father to the deceased, a resident of Kakoma in Nyabubare Kizinda town council said his son died under clear circumstances on Friday after doing an examination.

He alleged that his son died at the prophetic church not at Kampala International University Hospital as claimed by the mother.

Some of the church neighbors who talked on conditions of anonymity said there are things that are done in the church secretly at night which cannot be understood.

They also claimed Collins died before being transferred to Kampala International Hospital and said he is not the first person to die in that church.

 Kibeteka, the sister to Baguma (Aunt to the deceased) said the woman is suspected to be a witch as she has always claimed to have Super Natural Powers though trying to hide in the Catholic Faith.

Inside self-Proclaimed prophet’s church, there are monuments of Virgin Mary, Jesus on the cross and Rosaries.

 Arinaitwe Aron Kanyangoga, the area Coucilor LC III said they are still investigating as there was no any postmortem report provided for the death of the boy.

The burial later took place on Saturday at Baguma’s home but in presence of heavy security to prevent any fights between the self Proclaimed prophet (Mother to the deceased) and residents who were so bitter at her deeds.

Our efforts to talk to Rovinah Ntegyeireze were futile as she tried to fight with our reporters who had sought her comment.
