Ibanda University vice chancellor Prof. Emanuel Karoro has urged children to love God so as not to be corrupt in future.
While speaking as the guest of Honor at children’s camp function today that was held at Kashenyi church of Uganda aimed at teaching children how to preach, read the bible and order of the church service, Prof. Emanuel Karoro said corruption begins at a younger age but it is detected at older age.
He said that those who cheat exams in classes when studying are the ones that will embezzle government funds when entrusted with political and public offices.
On the same function Dorah Karoro a lecturer at KIU and a wife to professor Emanuel Karoro said boy children should also be trained in domestic work to reduce domestic violence in future parents.
She said if boys are not trained in both male and female skills, when they marry they will expect every domestic work to be done by their wives which erupts fights in families.
Karoro added that children below the age of 6 should not be sent to boarding schools because they need more parental care and it is at that age where a child can learn from their parents.
She asserted that a parent is the one who determines the future of the child saying that parents should live exemplary to their children.
According to venerable canon Steven Asingwire the archdeacon Ishaka urban archdeaconary church, the children camp was to train young children how to preach, read bible for a God fearing generation since 2019 was declared by church of Uganda as the year of children.
