MINISTER KAROORO APPRECIATES SECURITY AGENCIES, UGANDANS FOR KEEPING PEACE AT NEW YEAR’S EVE

The minister for general duties in the office of the Prime minister Mary  Karooro Okurut has thanked Ugandans and all the security agencies for cooperation, after she got  a report that there were no murder cases at the New Year’s Eve celebrations especially in Bushenyi district.
Karooro said this as she addressed the press at the New Year’s Day on Wednesday 1st January 2020 at her home in Bushenyi town, Bushenyi district.
She also applauded efforts put in by President Museveni to stablise security in the country.
She called upon Ugandans to always support government programs in their communities adding that they are the very people to benefit from the programs thus should always support them.
She said that government is also aware that some areas have not yet received services such as water, electricity among others but requested Ugandans to be calm as services are yet to reach their communities.
Highghlighting on Health, Hon Karoro said government is in final plans of Introducing Health Insurance Scheme that is meant to help Ugandans especially those who have always sought treatment abroad.
She said as NRM Primary elections come closer, leaders should avoid creating enmity within Ugandans arguing that such politic games cause insecurity which in end yield bad results.
She said politics does not necessarily mean hatred but leaders should always aim at uniting voters.
She further advised Ugandans to always conserve the environment arguing that if one cuts one tree, he should plant more trees.
