The Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality Member of Parliament Gordon Arinda Cowboy has revealed that the health insurance bill will have been passed into an Act most likely by June 2020.

He added that the Act will be the best gift to Ugandans by parliament and government adding that people who should not have died are dying because of lack of money for treatment.

He said this yesterday during an exclusive interview with www.mknewslink.com managing editor at Jamugi restaurant.

Cowboy said that he sits on parliamentary health committee adding that the committee has already bench marked in Kenya and 72% of Kenyans are on health insurance.

The ugandan insurance bill which was tabled in parliament and forwarded to committee on health will be brought to house in February and then passed into a law.

In the bill, family heads as well as all salaried workers are expected to contribute money for insurance.

Cow boy noted that his Christmas message was this bill which will help secure Ugandans’ lives.

Uganda Citizens Alliance an NGO operating in Western Uganda has warned urban residents to stop dumping garbage into water sources.

In a press conference held at Ankole resort hotel, the president of UCA Deo Atuhaire noted that it is very important to have clean sources of water for current and future generations.

He added that NWSC has provided them with funding to protect water sources in South Western and western Uganda regions.

The head of programmes at UCA Elly Muhwezi called upon communities where they will be operating to give them cordial welcome as they sensitize them on dangers of drying up wetlands and water sources.

Paul Kahigi the project manager also principal communications officer NWSC called upon people of Mbarara and other areas where R. Rwizi passes to protect it jealously because their future lies on it.

In Mbarara

A 40 year old man was yesterday discovered stabbed to death in Karugangama cell Katete ward Nyamitanga division Mbarara municipality on January 2, 2020.

According to residents, the deceased identified by police as Robert Muhairwe was heard yelling on January 1, 2020 at around 11:30 am but no help was offered to him only to find him dead the following day.

The Rwizi regional police spokesperson Samson Kasasira confirmed the report saying the deceased has been a porter at Margret’s a resident of the same address.

Kasasira explained that the deceased was found stabbed to death with a knife in his back by unknown assailants.

Police findings reveal that the person whom Muhairwe had been staying with could have been the one who killed him since he has gone into hiding.

The body was transferred to Mbarara regional referral Hospital for post mortem as police continue with investigations to capture the suspect on run

In Kisoro

Police in Kisoro district are holding a 57 year old man for allegedly killing his wife.

The suspect Gad Niyonzimana, 57 a resident of Gatwe Village, Bunagana Parish in Muramba subcounty in Kisoro district allegedly hit his wife Pofia Nyirabakunzi on the head with a hoe in the wee hour of Thursday 2^nd January 2020.

According to the Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson Elly Maate, the victim later died from Mutolere Hospital at around 03:00am.

Maate said that the citizens of the area got alerted, swung in the operation and arrested the suspect who had hidden in the maize plantation then handed him over to Police.

By press time, the body was at Kisoro Referral hospital for postmortem

Police inquiries have already commenced.
