The civil society, Bushenyi district and municipal leaders together with police have today 28th Feb.2020 converged at the head quarters of the 10 year old municipality and forced staff including the town clerk out of the offices.
The offices were later closed by the above group following the missing ugx 194 M allegedly misused by the town clerk William Makuune.
According to the CEO Western Ankole civil society forum Apollo Lee Kakonge, the offices will be closed from today till Tuesday when the minister of local government Raphael Magyezi will come to meet the stakeholders and look for the way out.
The police are now in charge of the place until Tuesday but people who come for services get disappointed because they find the work station closed.
Yesterday, the town clerk Makuune was temporarily arrested and recorded a statement before he was released on Police bond for allegedly swindling ugx 194 M.
Recently, Apollo Lee Kakonge sued the municipal authorities accusing them of denying him access to the bills of quantities, and other details related to roads construction and management in the municipality.
