350 PUBLIC SERVANTS TEMPORARILY SENT HOME OVER CORONA VIRUS IN IBANDA

The Chief Administration Officer for Ibanda district Nathan Ahimbisibwe, has sent home over 200 staff members and workers for 14 days with effect from 20.3.2020 in a bid to curtail the spread of corona virus.
Through a circular released from the Ahimbisibwe’s office signed by the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, William Kamara, only sketch staff has been requested to remain on duty.
The management of Ibanda Municipality has also sent home over 150 staff members following president’s directives.
“The staff from the divisions of Kagongo,Bufunda and Bisheeshe as Ibanda municipality has responded in line with the government’s directives against coronavirus since it is our duty to safeguard our people,â€Joseph Mande the town clerk told www.mknewslink.com reporter.
One staff who did not want his names to be disclosed to press told our reporter that due to the ban on public transport, the staff have been walking to and from work on foot.
