Police in Bunyangabu district have today morning arrested and later released on bond the distrct chairperson James Ategeka after he assaulted the Resident District Commissioner.
Ategeka slapped RDC Jane Asiimwe when she asked him to park his official car at the district headquarters in response to the presidential directives.
Ategeka claimed that as a district leader ,he was also using the same vehicle to mobilize the community on how to prevent corona virus pandemic.
President Museveni during a national address on how to curtail the spread of Corona Virus instructed that all government vehicles countrywide must be centralized within their respective districts.
“I am directing that all government vehicles in the districts (except the ones for the army and Police) should be centralised at the district headquarters under the command of the district health officer, aided by a Police officer” President Museveni noted.
“We are going to struggle to ensure that [these vehicles] have enough fuel.”

In Bushenyi

Residents in Bushenyi town have to a large extent adhered to presidential directives in a bid to curtail the spread of Corona Virus.
www.mknewslink.com reporter who visited the town observed that only three vehicles have passed through the town in four hours time compared to 200 vehicles that would pass in a period of four hours.
However, our reporter could not verify whether the passing vehicles have been authorised by the RDC since they are all private vehicles.
Our reporter found only two 2 hair saloons were open in the whole town and all the streets were almost empty as a few people were seen walking on their feet.
Limited number of boda bodas only carrying luggage and food supplies are operating giving people services as the president directed to them to continue serving.
