Police in Kabale have in detention a 39 year old man who alleged defiled his three year old biological daughter.
The suspect Deogratius Mutabazi Kabwensi is a resident of Kibingo village Kitohwa parish Kaharo sub county Kabale district.
It’s alleged that recently the suspect had a misunderstanding with his 27 year old wife and she left for her uncle’s place with the girl leaving behind the elder boy of 13 years.
The Kigezi region police spokes person Elly Matte said that few days later, the suspect went and forcefully brought back the girl home.
Matte added that around 04/04/2020 the neighbors observed that the girl walked with difficulties thus informed the mother who intervened and the girl told her that she was defiled by the father.
The mother reported the matter to police and the suspect was immediately arrested on 5/4/2020.
The case was registered at Kabale police station under reference number CRB 396/2020 and inquiries are underway.

Bushenyi RDC Jolly Tibemanya has appreciated the work done by the youth of Omugaju  group in sensitizing the masses on how to fight COVID 19 .
Using mega microphones, youths under their umbrella Omugaju have sensitized residents of Kibazi ,Butaare , Mashonga in Kyamuhunga town council Bushenyi district to follow presidential directives and guidelines to curtail spread of Corona Virus.
Tibemanya urged young generation follow an example of Omugaju youths adding that fighting Corona Virus is everyone’s responsiblity thus should not leave it to RDC and his task force.
Andrew commonly known as Andy Yellow the Omugaju coordinator emphasized that people should avoid touching their soft parts such as mouth ,nose,ears and eyes,washing hands to protect themselves from Corona Virus .

In Rukungiri

12 people who have been under Institutional quarantine in Rukungiri district have been discharged after the mandatory 14 days.
Without disclosing more details about the discharged suspects, the Rukungiri district health officer Dr.Akasima Mucunguzi urged those still in institutional quarantine to ensure following the set measures in a bid to stem the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr Akasima also asked Ugandans to remain calm as they practice all available guidelines to prevent the spread of Corona virus in the country.
Dr Akasima added that only 28 people have remained under Institutional quarantine and they are being monitored on a daily basis.
Dan Kaguta, the Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner said that the discharged suspects were fully monitored and none of them developed signs and symptoms of COVID-19 disease.
Kaguta also called co-operation and oneness in these trial moments as the country is fighting against the spread of COVID 19 pandemic.
The ministry of health on Sunday announced that 4 more cases had tested positive in Uganda bringing the total number of cases to 52.

In Mitooma

The RDC Mitooma Ada Asiima this week arrested and detained the Anglican lay leader in Mitooma district for using the mega microphone calling people to come and pray at his church .
The lay leader only identified as Ntambirweki the lay leader at Bubaare C.O.U in Mitooma town council was found with mega microphone at his church calling Christians to come and pray which is against presidential directive that led to closure of churches .
The RDC noted that after arresting Ntambirweki, they met people along the way going to church which meant that he wanted to congregate people and lead prayers which is against the presidential directive .
The RDC added that Lay leader Ntambirweki was arrested and taken to Mitooma police station but he was shortly bonded so he will keep reporting at Mitooma police until his case is resolved
The arrest of Ntabirweki is similar to that of a Reverend Father who was arrested in Kisoro and another Anglican Reverend who was arrested in Rukungiri shortly after the presidential directive took effect .

In Bushenyi

There is slow response to presidential directives in Ishaka town, Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality, Bushenyi district.
This has been observed by our field reporters who were walking around Ishaka streets today and found almost all whole sale shops excluding food stores were open and a large number of private cars were operating in the town.
Along Ishaka Kagamba Main Street, www.mknewslink.com reporter found more than 50 private cars parked on the street and some of the owners especially wholesale owners talked rudely to our reporter.
Most of them were quoted saying, “You don’t have the capacity to ask us go and do your job because us operating is none of your businesses,
Most of the open wholesale shops were selling general merchandise including various kinds of drinks both alcoholic and soft plus locally made beverages.
One of the resident who was found at Gaz stage only identified as Micheal told www.mknewslink.com that at night all the streets are always empty but wondered how the cars come in the morning and yet President Museveni banned use of private transport.
President Museveni in his 7th Address to the nation after COVID outbreak, ordered for the closure of shopping malls, arcades, garages, saloons among others. However, the situation looked different in Ishaka as most of the mentioned were still in operation.
At around 3:30 pm, some of the open businesses especially garages, electronic shops were playing a tik tak game as they would close after seeing the police officers and open again after their departure.
While talking to reporters at his office in Bushenyi district ,the RDC warned residents to take the issue of coronavirus seriously, especially putting into practice the standard operation procedures (SoPs) that President Museveni recently announced.
RDC said on the night of 5th April 2020, the Corona virus task force and security team arrested over 40 people most of whom were in bars drinking and selling alcohol.

According to the Bushenyi district Health officer, Dr Edward Mwesigye, the district has been monitoring 57 suspected COVID cases of whom 3 have been institutionally quarantined.

Uganda currently has 52 cases with no any reported death.
