As the race for NRM Bushenyi district chairmanship heats up between Prof. Kabwegyere and Tycoon Hassan Bassajabalaba , Hassan last evening May 09, 2020 reacted on Kabwegyere’s candidature on two radion stations; Bushenyi radio[BFM] and Crane Radio.
Tycoon noted that Kabwegyere’s desire to unseat him is not a problem and he is sure[TYCOON] that he will defeat him.
The appearance of the tycoon on two radio stations was making a reaction on the maize flour that has been distributed to Bushenyi district covid 19 task force by Bamugisha Community Welfare , Tycoon Hassan Bassajabalaba , Minister Karooro, Minister Raphael Magyezi and MP Mawanda.
Tycoon Hassan Bassajabalaba attacked three sub county chairmen Steven Karuuti Central Divison, Deus Mukyenga Ishaka division and Karoori Rwamuganga Nyabubare sub-county for refusing to distribute maize flour for Mary Karooro.
The three chairmen however deny any wrong doing and accuse tycoon Hassan of using wrong approaches and anger to express wrong information
The NRM Primary elections in Bushenyi will be the hottest as the Wife to the managing director of NWSC Mrs Annet Katusiime Mugisha will be against the incumbent Woman MP Karooro for Bushenyi who is supported by Tycoon Hassan Bassajabalaba.
Karooro has been a woman MP for 16 years and she has been a minister during most of these years.
Kabwegyere has been in politics since 1970s; he chaired the Mosh Conference in Tanzania which culminated into ousting of Idd Amin Dada who was a huge problem to Uganda for 8 years.
Kabwegyere has a rich CV where he has been a minister in many regimes including that of Binayisa and he is a prominent tea farmer in greater Kyamuhunga.
Last week, he declared to unseat Tycoon Hassan Bassajabalaba from the seat of NRM chairman for Bushenyi because his team realized that he is uncompromising thus Tycoon Bassajabalaba cannot buy him out of the race as he has been doing to others.
Tycoon Hassan Bassajabalaba has been NRM chairman for two terms and all those who would declare to contest against were bought out of the race including Senior citizen Yoram Tibasiimwa in 2015 elections.
