Bamugisha Community Welfare has today 14th May 2020 donated 6 tonnes of maize flour to Bushenyi district covid 19 task force.
The directors of Bamugisha Community welfare who were represented by Nakanwagi Yudaya the district woman chairperson directed that 5 tonnes be distributed to teachers while the remaining one tonne be kept in the store .
Nakanwagi said that Bamugisha Community Welfare thought about helping teachers from private and government aided schools who have for many months gone without salaries after schools were partially closed.
Nakanwagi thanked Bamugisha Community Welfare for giving back to the community adding that Bamugisha has for far donated 51 tonnes of maize flour to the district task force.
Jolly Tibemanya the district covid 19 task force chairman who doubles as the the RDC hailed the team Bamugisha for donating again and promised to distribute the given food accordingly.

In Bushenyi–

Two police officers attached to Bushenyi Central police station have today perished in a nasty accident at Lower Nyangereka Hima town council Kasese district.
SP Martial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi regional police spokesperson identified the deceased as; No.58728 PC Daniel Kule and No.56365 PC Wilson Mbusa.
According to SP Tumusiime ,the two were driving from Fort portal to Bushenyi after delivering a juvenile convict to Fort portal remand home.
Tumusiime told www.mknewslink.com that they are still investigating the cause of the accident.

Jaffari Bassajabalaba the Bushenyi district chairman yesterday donated 1000kgs of maize flour to the district Covid 19 task force where he is a member.
Jaffari noted that he did not donate because he is rich but because he has at heart the people of Bushenyi who  voted him into LCV seat.
Jaffari Bassajabalaba is the first member of the district task force to donate to the people of Bushenyi. However all members of the task force started contributing money yesterday and their donations will be announced Wednesday next week.
The RDC Jolly Tibemanya hailed Bassajabalaba for touching deep into his pocket to donate for the people of Bushenyi who so much need the help.

In Mitooma

The Member of Parliament for Ruhinda county Capt. Dononzio Kahonda has today donated a brand new ambulance to Mitooma district Covid 19 taskforce to mainly help pregnant mothers .
Kahonda also donated 80 jerrycans of Liquid soap ,some face masks plus temperature gauges to the district.
He delivered the much needed assortments today 14th May 2020 at Mitooma district headquarters to district task force chaired by Ada Nasiima.

The leaders of Mitooma welcomed Kahonda’s contribution to the district and thanked him for remembering them in these hard times.
Kahonda defeated Maj. Gen. Kahinda Otafiire in 2015 primaries as well as general elections in 2016.
Kahonda won elections while he was in prison over alleged fake documents and he was immediately released.

Kahonda has already declared his interest to contest again for the seat against minister Kahinda.

In Bushenyi —

Police in Bushenyi are holding the interdicted Bushenyi Ishaka municipal treasurer Muhwezi Jackson Beyendeza for allegedly embezzling 91 million shillings from municipal account.
Muhwezi Jackson Beyendeza was recently interdicted with other two on the orders of the Local Government Minister Rapheal Magyezi over the misuse of municipal money.
According to the Greater Bushenyi regional police spokes person SP Martial Tumusiime, Jackson withdrawn 91 Million from the municipal account without the consent of the authorities .
SP Tumusiime added that they have arrested Muhwezi so that he can explain the whereabouts of the government money he withdrew in his names.
He noted that if they do not recover that money, Muhwezi will be taken to courts of laws to answer to relevant charges.

The Deputy Resident District Commissioner for Kyankwanzi Denis Nzeirwe has donated 1050 kilograms of posho to the mechanics of Kabale district in support of their role towards the fight against the spread of COVID 19 in Uganda.
Mr. Nzeirwe’s donation comes at a time when business has been greatly affected by the lockdown that was declared in April by President Yoweri Museveni in an attempt to stop the spread of COVID 19 in Uganda.
The consignment was handed over to the Kabale district Covid19 task force on Wednesday, after the discharge of Kenyan truck driver who was admitted at kabale regional referral hospital after testing fully negative to covid 19.
While receiving the relief ,Bruce Anguzo, the owner of Anguzu Motor Spares in Kabale main garage who is also the chairperson of Kabale garage mechanics association said that Mr. Nzeirwe had not only demonstrated a spirit of a Patriot, but also a true exemplary character of a good leader.
He also thanked Mr. Nzeirwe for remembering garage members saying that they have been being ignored and segregated in the distribution of food by other leaders.
Denis Nzeirwe reiterated the president’s call to the public to continue observing the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health such as social distancing, washing and sanitizing often and staying home when one has a fever, cold or cough.
The Kabale district covid 19 task force led by the district resident commissioner Darius Nandinda appreciated Denis Nzeirwe’s donations saying that it has come at the time when the community in Kabale district needs them.
He also thanked all the well wishers that have donated to Kabale corona virus task force for their compassion saying that fuel donations have helped them in transporting pregnant women from rural villages to the district hospital.

A truck driver who has been under treatment at Kabale Regional Referral Hospital after he tested positive for Coronavirus has been discharged after a full recovery.
Daudi Noir Abdu the Kenyan truck driver was last month intercepted at Cyanika border post as he returned from Rwanda and taken to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital after testing positive for the contagious coronavirus.
He was first tested on April 19th at Malaba border post t between Uganda and Kenya and was on April 21st intercepted at Cyanika border Post in Kisoro and admitted at Kabale Regional Referral Hospital on April 23rd 2020 where he was tested again the results also came in he was negative on May 5th, 9th and 10th they decided that he has now fully recovered and they decided to discharge him.
Kabale Regional Referral Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr.Sophie Namasope said that the patient is the first to be treated at the hospital adding that they decided to discharge him yesterday Wednesday May 13th 2020, after testing negative.
Dr Namasope also said that all his contacts have all tested negative thus thanked the District Task Force who provided food for the patient who could not eat local foods since he is Kenyan.
Kabale RDC Darious Nandinda who was present at the discharge said that pan African-ism being one of the four pillars of the NRM government, they could not send the patient back to his home country as many people had wanted.
Nandinda added that East African brotherhood and good relationship between Uganda and Kenya could not let them send him back to Kenya but they had to treat him till he healed.
Noir said that at first when he was brought in hospital he was scared as he was in a foreign country but along the way the health workers begun treating him and he got settled as they were looking after him well.
The total confirmed cases in the country stand at 139 with 61 recoveries and no deaths yet.
