In Kabale—

Police in Kabale have in detention 14 people for disobeying lawful orders and doing an act likely to spread infectious diseases after they were caught red-handed praying in the bush.

Ely Maate confirmed to www.mknewslink.com  that the arrested were yesterday afternoon at around 13:00 hours found praying in Makanga forest very far from town on a tip off.

He identified the arrested as; Tushabe Ruth 27, Prudence Rosette 30, Naume Nahwera 35, Orishaba Mercy 23 , Owomugisha sheila 20,  Ninsima Grace 28  , Rukundo Mary 23  ,Bosco Innocent 46,and Alex Shema 26 among others all from areas within Kabale municipality.

He said that the 14 are said to be members of Nyabikoni World of Faith under the leadership of Pastor Obedi Ndyamuba.

Mate told www.mknewslink.com that they were more than fifty but others went in disarray, when they sighted the police from a distance.

The missing manager of Kambuzi Farmers SACCO in Kizinda -Kigoma town council has not been found since 8^th June 2020.

According to a close friend who preferred anonymity, basing on the information so far gathered, missing Elly Muhereza was not kidnapped but he is hiding somewhere because of immense family conflicts with his wife.

The friend added that Muhereza did not steal the SACCO’s money though he had a manageable loan of 7 Million shillings which cannot make him escape considering his salary.

He also noted that sometimes his friend would sleep in his vehicle parked outside in his compound because of conflicts with his wife which had turned unresolved.

The news of disappearance of Elly Muhereza was broken by the Board of Kambuzi Farmers SACCO on Social media platforms on Tuesday evening alleging that he could have been kidnapped and killed by unknown people.

Kambuzi Farmers SACCO started 10 years ago and the missing Elly Muhereza was the founding manager and it has taken big strides in its growth and development from village level to district level.

In Rubanda—

7 Passengers who were traveling in Bismakan bus from Kenya to Uganda were yesterday evening intercepted in Rubanda and Quarantined.

They were initially confined at Ikumba sub county headquarters since Health and Security officials hadn’t designated an isolation centre for Rubanda district.

However, they were moved to Ikumba sub county headquarters on Tuesday evening following consultations with the Health Ministry.

Dr. Abdone Birungi, the Rubanda district health officer, says the passengers were coming from kenya through Malaba border heading to Kisoro through Bunagana border.

He added that health and security officials will keep watch of the Ikumba subcounty headquarters while monitoring the health condition of the passengers as well as prevent them from escaping.

Birungi however called upon the public to remain vigilant and inform relevant health authorities in case they detect any person presents with Covid-19 like symptoms

He also noted that all the passengers are residents of Kisoro district and they include 6men and a wife.

The King of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom has called off this year’s coronation anniversary celebrations (Empango) resorting to scientific due to the threat posed by the deadly corona virus.

The Omukama of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Dr. Solomon Gafabusa Iguru1 will on Thursday 11th June hold a thanks giving prayer service at St. Peter’s cathedral- Duhaga as part of the celebrations to mark his 26th coronation anniversary celebrations. The service is to be presided over by Rt. Rev. Samuel Kahuma Abwooli, the Bishop of Bunyoro Kitara diocese and to be attended by a handful of invited guests and covered by various media outlets.

Iguru is the 49th Omukama of Bunyoro kitara kingdom (Batembuzi, Bacwezi and Babiito dynasties), but the 27th Omukama from the Babiito lineage, the third dynasty to have ruled Bunyoro-Kitara.

Rukirabasaija Agutamba, ascended the throne on June 11, 1994 follow the restoration of monarchies after 26 years of no Monarchies which were abolished by former president of Uganda Dr. Apollo Milton Obote in 1966.

At the time of abolition, Iguru’s Father, Sir Tito Winyi Gafabusa iv, was the reigning king of Bunyoro. Most Banyoro, especially the royal family, knew Prince John Rukidi was the heir. This issue ended up in the high court of Uganda, which ruled in favour of Solomon Gafabusa Iguru. This was almost history repeating itself when Iguru’s great grandfather, Omukama Kamurasi Kyebambe (1852-1869), secretly named Kabalega as his successor upon his death in 1869, yet Kabigumiire, who was Kabalega’s elder brother, was the heir apparent.
