Investigations at www.mknewslink.com has established that the interdicted municipal treasurer Jackson Muhwezi Beyendeza last year August forged the signature of the late Lawyer Charlie Tumwesigye and withdrew 2million from municipal account claiming it was the lawyer who had withdrawn it for his work done.
What shocked www.mknewslink.com investigators is that lawyer Charlie died in June 2019 but Jackson forged his signature in August 2019 claiming it was Charlie who had withdrawn the money.
www.mknewslink.com managing editor visited the chambers of the late Charlie, obtained a signature forged by Jackson.
Charlie Tumwesigye was a municipal lawyer for Bushenyi Ishaka municipality and was earning a retainer every month for the legal service rendered to the municipality.
According to sources which preferred anonymity, when staff at Charlie’s chambers fumed after discovering that the voucher was signed two months after the death of their boss, Jackson accepted that he had forged the signature to withdraw Charlie’s retainer money and he has already paid back some money to remaining staff at the chambers .
His case file is before the DPP for sanctioning on similar cases of forgery after he forged the signature of the town clerk and other staff.
