In Bushenyi

In the NRM parliamentary elections held today the late comer Kabvuura Derrick Baimukye has defeated 6 others in the Bushenyi Ishaka municipality parliamentary race.

Going by out yesterday’s analysis the winner of the Bushenyi Ishaka parliamentary race was not yet predicted the race was too tight but the first was Derrick Kabuura Baimukye, Arnold Spencer Turwomwe, Incumbent Gordon Arinda Cowboy and Marvin Baryaruha ,Enganzi Chris Muganzi, Nasser Kankuriremu and finally Dr. Musoke Rutagi.

In Igara West Mbwatekamwa defeated Prof. Kabwegyere, Horace Muhabuzi, Dr. Karuhanga, and Adam Kyakuwa among others.

In Igara East Mawanda survived narrowly by defeating Yeyard Rushatuka, Medard Muganzi, Fabiano Gakyalo, Allen Isharaza .

In Bushenyi

As voting for NRM woman MP for Bushenyi district concludes, results received by www.mknewslink.com indicate that Annet Katusiime Mugisha is leading in all village polling stations in the district.

At Bushenyi town school polling station which is in Central cell Karooro got 98 whereas Annet got 425., Rewntuha town council at Katooma Annet got 103 while Karooro got 22 votes, Nyeibingo in Ruhumuro, Annet has 139, Karooro 37, Masya Annet has 203, Karooro101.

Also Kantunda in Kiyaga parish Bumbaire subcounty the home parish of Annet Mugisha, Annet got 150, Karooro has 10, Kabare LCI Annet has 149 Karooro 92 Nyabikyerere in Central division Annet 305, Karooro 32, Kikuba central Annet 95, Karooro 41, Migina Annet 113 Karooro 32 Kyirundo Bumbaire Annet 150 Karooro10, Kanyamaboona Ishaka Division Annet 461 Karooro 208, Rukindo Annet 173, Karooro 152.

So far results received by www.mknewslink.com indicate that Minister Karooro has not defeated Annet in any village.

In Mbarara

Police in Mbarara last night arrested six people including an MP candidate after they were found holding a political meeting beyond curfew.

The arrested according to police are; Daniel Kananura an MP contestant for Kashari North, Benon Arinaitwe NRM registrar for Ruhumba ward in Rubindi town council, Rogers Mugisha NRM registrar for Kashare subcounty, Juvenile Katusime NRM registrar for Rubindi town council and 2 supporters Pascal Nkakirwa and Denis Musinguzi.

ASP Samson Kasasira the Rwizi region police spokesperson told www.mknewslink.com  that the six were arrested from Itamba guest house in Rwebikoona Mbarara city where they were holding a political meeting beyond curfew hours.

Kasasira revealed that the six were later released on Police bond after Mbarara NRM chairman Herbert Kamugisha stood them surety as inquires into the matter continue

The spokesperson noted that the six people have been charged with disobedience of lawful orders vide SD red/02/04/09/2020.

In Hoima

Three people were last night arrested for allegedly bribing voters in Hoima district NRM parliamentary race.

The three were intercepted in Kitoba trading centre and are believed to be agents of incumbent Harriet Businge.

They were found in a Toyota premio registration number UAX765X and one of them has been identified as Ruth Kyebambe.

Christine Akugiziibwe, political assistant to Beatrice Wembabazi has said that they have already registered their complaint to election officials at the district.

Police is yet to comment as preparations for elections go a head.

In Sheema

Police in Sheema District are investigating circumstances under which a 34-year-old man died at the final day of the NRM party primary campaigns in Sheema south constituency.

According to SP Scovia Birungi the Sheema District Police Commander, the deceased was on the illegal campaign trucks of one of the candidates for the area parliamentary seat.

Birungi told www.mknewslink.com that the unfortunate incident happened as  the security team led by the Sheema District RDC Frank Besigye Kyerere were trying to stop illegal campaigning and the residents resisted to follow the security orders.

SP Birungi added that the campaigners instead started exchanging blows with the security team which forced them to fire bullets in the air to disperse the rowdy crowds.

“The security team started firing bullets to disperse the crowds which caused the fracas and in the process the man fell off the truck and died instantly,” SP Birungi told the www.mknewslink.com

The DPC added that they so far have 34 goons in detention suspected to had been imported into the area to destabilize tomorrow’s election.

The hotly contested for seat is Sheema Municipality parliamentary seat where the former URA commissioner Dicksons Kateshumbwa is tussling it out with the Incumbent Dr. Elioda Tumwesigye

In Sheema South, the Incumbent Prof Ephraim Kamuntu is facing Eng Dickens Mushemeza.

The NRM is today Friday September 4^th 2020 electing their parliamentary flag bearers for the 2021 general elections.
