MINISTER RUKUTANA REMANDED TO KYAMUGORANI PRISON, TO RE-APPEAR IN COURT TOMORROW FOR BAIL

Grade one magistrate’s court in Ntungamo district led by Nazifa Namayanja has today remanded Minister Rukutana Mwesigye and his three escorts to Kyamugorani government prison until tomorrow on charges of attempted murder, malicious damage and inciting violence.
Rukutana who is the state minister for Labour and the incumbent Member of Parliament for Rushenyi county in Ntungamo district was arrested alongside his escorts on Saturday 5th, Sept,2020 at around 10 am for maliciously shooting and damaging the motor vehicle ( RAV4) belonging to Dan Rweiburungi a resident of Kagugu parish Rubare sub county a supporter of Hon. Naome Kabasharira.
They were later moved from Ntungamo and taken to Mbarara Central Police Station where they have since been detained before appearing in court today.
Now, they were today transferred to Ntungamo district where they appeared before grade One magistrate who remanded them till tomorrow when they will appear before the same court for plea hearing.
Rukutana is co-accused with his body guards identified as Egec Paul ,Kazala Faizo L/CP and Okello Johnbosco.
