LC III CHAIRPERSON DEFEATS KYANKWANZI DEPUTY RDC, INCUMBENT DISTRICT BOSS IN KABALE NRM PRIMARIES

The Katuna Town council LCIII Chairperson Nelson Nshangabasheija alias Baaba Baba Taata Taata was last night declared the Kabale District Chairperson NRM flag bearer.
Nshangabasheija garnered 45,247 votes defeating his closest opponent, incumbent Kabale district Chairperson Patrick Besigye Keihwa who polled 21,803 votes. Keihwa is also the Western region vice Chairman Uganda Local Government Association (ULGA)
In the race also was the Kyankwanzi district deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Denis Nzeirwe Ndyomugyenyi who got 22,671 votes.
Nshangabasheija was declared the winner of the race at exactly 11:10 pm by the Kabale District NRM Registrar Mourice Mugenga Keitaba at Kabale district main tallying centre at Kabale Rukiiko hall in Kabale Municipality.
Speaking to his supporters at the tally centre, Nshangabasheija asked for unity, togetherness and support from all his opponents’ camps for the success of the NRM party in the next year’s general elections.
He also emphasised the need for calmness and harmony among all the voters in the district for the development of Kabale District.
