Asiimwe said that they have also installed the cameras on different government institutions like hospitals to ensure safety and they will make sure that the whole city is installed with the cameras to help security do the needful.
According to him, since Fort Portal was granted a city, they are expecting very many people, mostly tourists explaining that it is why they decided to install the cameras as one way of safety guarantee to the visitors in town.
“CCTV cameras will help us tress child kidnappers, boda boda thieves, bad driving such that the perpetrators are brought to books.” Asiimwe emphasized.
He cautioned people against attacking the cameras as they are meant for their safety, saying that those who are suspicious of the cameras are the criminals who want to disrupt peace in town.
