In Bushenyi—

Bushenyi chief magistrate’s court presided over by Jane Mugara has today dismissed a vote recount application filed by Kibala Mbika against winner Naboth Nabasa of FDC in Rwentuha town council.

The chief magistrate earlier heard submissions from both sides of the applicant Kibala Mbika and the winner Naboth Nabasa of FDC for Rwentuha town council.

Kibala’s application requested for a recount at one polling station of Omukibare COU out of 9 polling stations.

The defense team was led by Turinawe and Kamba advocates while the applicant’s team was led by Owen Murangira.

The contestation by the Kibala team was on the fact that 191 votes cast for him at Omukibare, only 91 were recorded and 100 were neglected.

However, according to lawyer representing Naboth Nabaasa,Turinawe and Kamba advocates, Ms Mugura dismissed the applications because Kibala and team did not provide enough evidence and he secondly did not report to police early.

Un confirmed sources told www.mknewslink.com that the reason as to why Kibala is insisting on vote recount at Omukibare polling station is that he ballot stuffed therefore when they recount, he will be the winner.
As we write this at 4:00pm, the applicant and the defendant with their lawyers and their witnesses are waiting for the judgment from the chief Magistrate Jane Mugara on whether to recount votes at Omukibare or all the 9 of the stations as requested by the defendants lawyer Julius Turinawe.

hey are also waiting for the chief magistrate to either dismiss the application and Naboth retains his win in Rwentuha town council.

In Sheema—

 Residents in Bushenyi cell, Kihunda ward Sheema municipality yesterday resolved to Chase Steven Bwengye 58, after he slaughtered his   son accusing him of producing a child before marriage.

The residents claim that Bwengye once cut his brother but fortunately he didn’t die.

Bwengye Steven murdered his third born Daniel Turyahabwe 24 years during night of 01, Feb, 2021 after ambushing him when he was from easing himself.

Residents noted that they have resolved to Chase Bwengye from their village on six accounts among which they accuse him of moving with a panga on the village, killing his own son, among others.

According to the close relatives of the two, Bwengye had expelled his son Daniel from the family accusing him of dropping out of school when he neither lacked school fees nor scholastic materials. Turyahabwe then escaped from home and went to Kampala.

In Mbarara–

Police in Rwizi Region are stranded with the body of yet to be identified man believed to be in his 30’s.

The deceased who is dressed in khaki trouser and a grey shirt with black stripes plus a yellow mask stained with blood, was recovered yesterday 05, Feb, 2021 at around 1200/c hours.

According to Rwizi police mouthpiece ASP Samson Kasasira, the body of the deceased was dumped by unknown assailants near farms in Rwemikunyu cell, Biharwe Mbarara city North division and reported to Koranorya police station by the locals of the area.

The body was retrieved and found with signs of strangulation around the neck with blood oozing out of the nose and the mouth ,on search no documents were found on the body.

However, Kasasira noted that the body of the deceased was taken to Mbarara regional referral hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
