Police in Kabale district are hunting for unknown people who are circulating leaflets demeaning the person of President Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni who won January presidential elections.

The leaflets dropped on various streets of Kabale municipality on Wednesday night, have inscriptions “35 years, dictatorship, poverty, extra judicial killings, human rights abuse, nepotism …Enough is enough, ekimala Kimala, tosha tosha,” with a cancelled portrait of President Museveni.

According to Ms Jane Tusasibwe, a mobile money attendant along Kabale –Bunyonyi road in northern division Kabale municipality, they woke up on Wednesday and found the whole town littered with the leaflets from an anonymous source.

Our reporter observed that the leaflets are dropped in Bugongi streets, Rwakaraba streets, Nyerere Street and Kigongi streets all in Kabale municipality.

But, the Kabale District Police Commander Brian Ampere says that they suspect that whoever is behind these leaflets may cause unrest in the town.

Ampere noted that security is working hard so that the suspects are brought to book.

He also asked the public to remain calm because the issue has already been taken up by joint security forces.

However, Ampere promised our reporter that these suspects will be arrested very soon because the intelligence team is on the ground.

In Kabale—

UPDF 2^nd Division court martial in Mbarara has today sentenced two men to 100 years in prison for killing a guard in Kabale.

The two were convicted of killing SPC Baryabakabo Galacius while he  was on duty at Kabale electoral commission offices on the night of January, 27th.2021.

The convicts; Paul Dusingizimana and Mugisha Asiimwe Mukwenda pleaded guilty to the offence.

Lt. Col. Emmanuel Mwesigye who presided over the court noted that he sentenced the two to 100 years in prison because they did not waste court’s time.

In Isingiro—

Police in Rwizi Region are hunting for three unknown assailants who shot and killed a man in Isingiro district.

The yet to be caught assailants attacked the home of  Sebusande Lawrence 60 years ,a resident of Rwakinono cell ,Kiryaburo parish,Rugaga town council , Isingiro district.

According to Rwizi police mouthpiece ASP Samson Kasasira the deceased’s family was raided at around 2300/c last night by three unknown assailants with a rifle and sticks.

They shot him dead and seriously beat his 60 year old wife Mbabazi Juliana and she is nursing wounds at Nakivale Health center III.

Kasasira noted that the body of the deceased has been taken to Mbarara regional referral hospital for postmortem.

No suspect has been arrested yet but police has recovered one cartridge of an AK47 SMG rifle at the scene of crime, Kasasira told www.mknewslink.com.

The motive of the murder has not been established but inquiries into the matter are ongoing.

In Kabale—

Kabale bar and casino wall owners have finally illegally resumed their business after waiting for re-opening of bars by the ministry of health amidst covid 19 but in vain.

This development came amidst allegations that some bars continue to operate illegally which flouts the SOPs for COVID-19 which prompted our reporter to visit several bars, casino walls and gambling sites all over Kabale municipality and found the majority of them operating normally.

One of the bar and casino wall operators who preferred anonymity told our reporter that the government should allow them  to re-open their  businesses with strict adherence to COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures.

They added that the unprecedented nature of the pandemic has changed their way of life and how businesses operate and bars are not an exception

However, during an exclusive interview with our reporter on why the bars are operating normally in Kabale district, the Kabale district police commander Brian Ampere conceded that as security officials they are aware of the matter but blamed the matter to the president of Uganda Y.K. Museveni Tibuhaburwa who failed to close alcohol factories.

He added that most of the people purchase parked alcohol from supermarkets which were allowed by the president urging that security can’t stop them from selling it.

However, the Kigezi region police spokesperson Elly Matte said that as the security team they are working tirelessly so as all wrong doers are brought into police cells.

Last year, four candidates were hoping to take the top seat at the Federation of Motorsports Clubs of Uganda (FMU) for the next four years. 

Geoffrey Nsamba, Dusman Okee, Jack Wavamuno, and Dipu Ruparelia were all in the contention for the 1st February elections 2020

Dipu Ruparelia won as the New FMU President unfortunately Godfrey Nsamba didn’t make it. Nsamba is a failed struggling Lawyer and a Former rally driver in 2017 despite not racking up big on the track. He used to ship in Duncan Mubiru Rally cars.

He has been in sports Administrations working under the legal committee of local Football governing body (FUFA) and during this position he used to exchange with Lawrence mulindwa the Former FUFA president.

The reasons why sponsorships are No longer coming in for Uganda’s local Games is because of Controversial Lawyers like Nsamba that Made Supersport, AZAM, Bell Lager pull out for the Super League. As well star times wants to cancel the sponsorship.

Nsamba led the resignation of Lawrence Mulindwa Challenging his presidency saying Mulindwa, FUFA CEO Edgar Watson and returning officer Patrick Okanya were illegally running football activities.

Kavuma Kabenge on behalf of Express sued FUFA saying the Law for National Council Act doesn’t legally constitute FUFA.

FUFA and Express FC met and came up with an out of Court consent which was supposed to be signed in court after several meetings which Nsamba deliberately refused to attend.

Godfrey Nsamba only appeared on the following court seating where the consent was supposed to be signed and refused to sign the same on behalf of his FUFA Bosses sparking off the dramatic events that unfolded in High Court.

This same Lawyer Nsamba gave reasons For NOT signing the consent which was that it would mean that was the End of Lawrence Mulindwa and FUFA.- Secondly the scheduled 28th November 2009 elections would NOT be held and he couldn’t party to such a consent.

He also said his clients were put to a corner by Mwema and Kabenge.Nsamba threatened to fight the consent whether in or OUT of FUFA.

Meanwhile it’s understood that Mulindwa was concurrently considering a power sharing deal as he tried to strike compromise with his opponents who had overwhelmed the federation with court case.

They had given Mulindwa two options: either he takes presidency and gives them all the Vice positions or the other way round.

This same saga has happened to Moses Magogo Presidency currently that has recently just won the position MP of Budiope East in the just concluded Elections 2021.

Lawyers have always been spotted in Various Sports wrangles and left Federations torn apart some beyond repair to an extent that they are still battling in court after many years to find their independence but all in vain.

Lawyer Nsamba in 2009 stood in the way of settling a dispute between FUFA and Express when he refused to sign a consent agreed upon with the two parties. The Same person was spotted in this year’s Annual General meeting of FMU clashing with the new President Dipu Davesh Ruparelia.

In Sheema

Police in Sheema are holding a wife to Kaganja west LCI chairman for allegedly stealing hens from their neighbor

Kyomuhendo Kachunguzi was arrested by the Sheema central police after being caught rearing a hen of one Musime also a resident of Kaganja west, Rushozi ward, Sheema municipality.

Musime told www.mknewslink.com that Kyomuhendo used an excuse of carrying garbage from his compound to carry his 50 hens in a sack.

 However, Kyomuhendo claimed that she found the hen meandering in plantation of the late Katehangwa where she has been working.

 Nathan Muchuguzi a husband to the suspect who also doubles as LC1 Chairperson highly defended his wife on grounds that all lost properties are taken to the chairman for safety.

He explained that if his wife was a thief, she would have slaughtered or sold the hen to kill evidence.

Sheema OCCID confirmed the arrest of Ms Kyomuhendo Muchuguzi and noted that she will face courts of laws after their investigations.

In Mbarara—

The 2^nd Division court martial in Mbarara will today start hearing a case in which two people are charged with murdering a police officer in Kabale

The two; Paul Dusingizimana and Mugisha Asimwe Mukwenda are charged with murdering SPC Baryabakabo Galacius who was guarding Kabale Electoral commission offices on the night of January,27th.2021

On 31st.Jan.2021, the suspects were picked from their hideouts in Nyabikoni ward southern division Kabale municipality with a stolen gun number (UG .POL.565824456)

The two suspects were transferred to Mbarara UPDF 2^nd Division Makenke barracks on the 5th.Feb.2021 for further management after completion of inquiries.

Now according to UPDF 2^nd division mouthpiece Maj. Charles Kaboona, the suspects were found with a gun and army uniform thus they will be charged before court Martial beginning today.

In Rukungiri—

Plice in Rukungiri are investigating circumstances under which a 9 months old baby dead before he was fought in a stream.

The deceased Aiden was found dead in Rwakyiriba stream in Rwakyiriba cell, Kashayo parish, Bugangari Sub County. 

According to the mother to the deceased Obedience Ampeire, she left her baby at home and she is still puzzled on how he ended up in the stream.

ASP Victor Arimpa who led the Police officers to the crime scene asked residents to help police in investigations wondering how the nine month baby who can’t walk ended up in the stream.

The body of Aiden was taken to Rwakabengo Mortuary pending postmortem and the case has since been registered at Rwerere police post vide 05/10/02/2021.

Nathan Tusingwire the area local council one chairperson wants parents to keep a kin look at their children since child kidnaps have increased in the district.
