In Ntungamo—-

Police in Ntungamo district are investigating circumstances under which a boda boda cyclist was murdered.

A body of a man was found Rukindo cell, Kyamate ward Eastern divison Ntungamo municipality.  

The body was later identified as that of Ssezi Akansinguza alias Musheija a boda boda rider and resident of Enkondo cell, Nyabiriza parish Nyarutuntu.

Samson Kasasira the Rwizi regionpolice spokesperson told www.mknewslink.com that they visited the scene where they found the body facing down with a rope tied along its neck and blood oozing through the nose and the mouth.  

Postmortem was carried out at the scene and body handed over to relatives for burial.

It was discovered that the deceased was murdered during the night of 12th February and the assailants robbed him of his motorcycle.

In Mbarara—

Thousands of mourners have today gathered to sendoff the fallen Hunter Radio presenter Allan Mandela alias Sports master.

The deceased who has been laid to rest at his ancestral home in Nshozi , Kashaka, Mbarara district was yesterday 12th.Feb.2021 night stabbed to death  by his longtime lover Loyce Tihaineomwangire

She was later arrested and is now behind bars at Bushenyi central Police Station.

Addressing thousands of mourners, the RDC Kamwenge Cadre Geoffrey Mucunguzi who is the grandfather to the deceased thanked the security for the quick response since they swung into action very quickly.

He noted that he is a bit skeptical whether the alleged Killer Loyce Tihaineomwangire killed Allan alone since the scene of the crime had signs of a scuffle with body having multiple cuts.

He however thanked the media fraternity for the solidarity they showed yesterday.

Station manager at Hunter radio Engagyani Rodgers thanked the media fraternity for the support and solidarity they showed yesterday after they learnt about the mysterious death of their fellow.

Speaking on the same function, Lt. Col. Emmanuel Mwesigwa a close relative described the late Allan as a listening and kind son.

Late Allan’s mother Ms Robin told mourners that his son once intimated to her that he had impregnated his girl friend thus , she asked whoever has Allan’s child to bring it to the family.

Allan Mandela died at the age of 26 and has been working as a sports commententer at Bushenyi based  radio station Hunter fm.

In Bushenyi–

The chairman board of directors Bushenyi radio Jonas Tumwine has warned staff against engaging in acts of murder, robbery , witchcraft among others.

He said this yesterday in a meeting with the staff after one of their own Loyce Tihanomwangire murdered his longtime lover Allan Mandela Mateeka a sports presenter at another Bushenyi based radio station Hunter FM.

In an interview with www.mknewslink.com managing editor today morning, Jonas Tumwine noted that any staff that engages in such does it as an individual.

He added that BFM will wash hands over him or her and he or she will face the wrath alone.

This gruesome incident is the first case that involves a BFM staff since its start in 2008.

Jonas Tumwine is an accomplished media expert who worked at Ministry of public service as a principal communications officer and at Bushenyi Local government as information officer.

He worked at Radio Uganda and UTV as a journalist.

In Kabale—

Kabale District authorities are concerned about the rising number of teenage pregnancies.

Besigensi Alfred the acting Kabale District Health Officer says 1338 out of 10,310 mothers who delivered in the district last year were teenagers between 15 and 19 years.

He says 1241 out of the 7313 mothers who turned up at various health centers in the same time for postnatal care were teenagers.

 According to Alfred, because most of the teenagers don’t have love for their babies, they don’t provide them with sufficient food, which has led to severe malnutrition.

Alfred says they are overwhelmed by the number of underage girls dropping out of school due to pregnancy.

 He also notes that the increase in teenage pregnancies is caused by poverty in most families in the district, which forces young girls to engage in premarital sex with hungry boys and boda boda riders in an exchange for money.

 In 2017, 1637 out of 10,510 mothers who delivered in the district were teenagers between 10 and 19 years.

In Bushenyi—

www.mknewslink.com has established that the two statements recorded by Loyce Tihainomwangire in connection to the murder of Allan Mandela a radio presenter at Hunter Fm.

Bushenyi OCCID Benon Kivengere says the investigations are well ongoing with facts coming.

Kivengere noted that the suspect will be arraigned before courts of law on charges of Murder.

Loyce Tihainomwangire a receptionist at Bushenyi radio on Thursday night slaughtered his longtime lover Allan Mandela Mateeka the sports master at Hunter Fm.

She thereafter called Police to rescue her from an angry mob who wanted to lynch her to death.

In a video circulating on social media, it is alleged that she immediately confessed to the crime.

“We had a fight and I killed him in the end,”Loyce told police officer who had gone to arrest her.

In Rukungiri–

Rev Canon John Eric Kirebete one of the first evangelists in Rukungiri district has died.

Rev. Can. Kiberete passed on yesterday at an age of 107 according to one of the family members.

Rev Kirebete was one of the first persons to join evangelism alongside Rev Thomas Kakiza of Kebisoni Sub County another eldest clergy who died two weeks ago at the age of 120 years.

“Papa has lived all his life in church and by 1988, he was already retired from the church ministry” The family member told this www.mknewslink.com  this morning.

Rev. Can. John Eric Kirebete served in several places in the then Diocese of Kigezi before the creation of North Kigezi Diocese in 1980 after which he retired.

He pioneered the establishment of several church schools which were later taken over by the government.

After retiring from Church service, Rev Eric Kirebete retired into farming at his home in Bwanga – Omukiyenje where he has lived up to date.

 Rev. Can. Eric Kirebete is survived by a widow and 8 children who include the Mbarara based businessman Topher Katarikawe and Nathan Mugisha Kirebete, the former Archdeacon of Kakinga Archdeaconry in Kebisoni Sub county Rukungiri District who retired in December 2019.

Sheila Kirebete one of his grandchildren who once contested for Rukungiri Woman Parliamentary Seat said the family will announce the burial program later in the day.

Burial is tomorrow Sunday February 14th 2021 at his home in Bwanga – Omukiyenje in Nyarushanje Sub County in Rukungiri District.

In Mbarara—

Police in Mbarara are investigating circumstances that led to the death of two unidentified men who were caught red-handed with a numberless boda boda.

 The incident happened on 12th February 2021 at about 0500/c at Buremba road, Kakoba Division, Mbarara city.

The duo was lynched by angry bodaboda riders as they were looking for someone to buy the numberless motorcycle.

Samson Kasasira the Rwizi region police mouthpiece told www.mknewslink.com that they were notified and they quickly swung into action but unfortunately, the suspects had died.

He added that the numberless motorcycle was recovered and exhibited while the bodies were taken to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem.

Now the Police are on the ground to establish where the motorcycle chassis number MD2A18A YIKWD14273 was robbed from and no suspect has been arrested.
