In Ibanda—

Ibanda University has joined the rest of the universities in the country and the World over to teach students through E-Learning and online.

Prof. Emmanuel Karooro, the Ibanda University Vice Chancellor said that the university administration has contacted the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) with the intention of introducing E-Learning during covid-19 scourge

Prof. Karooro revealed this while opening an E-Learning workshop that attracted lectures from various universities at the University Board Room yesterday Saturday

“Let us embrace the new technology with E-Learning from the old system to access online teaching on internet, smart phones and laptop with enough study materials to complement on line teaching,” Prof. Karooro said.

He added that many students all over the world need not to sit in the class rooms, but only do their examinations using E-Learning and they pass well.

“I will sensitize all teaching staff and students to embrace the programme while students report with smart phones and laptops to avoid this backlog,” Prof. Karooro adds.

The Chairman Board of Governors Mr. Jeeb Rwomushana who is one of the University directors thanked the management for introducing the E-Learning program technology.

He however expressed concern over how some of the students live in areas where telecom network is a problem which will make it difficult to them to access the programme.  

He said that the E-Learning workshop at the Ibanda University was first of its kind since the university started.

In Bushenyi—

Following the gruesome murder of a youthful Hunter FM radio presenter Allan Mandela by her longtime lover Loyce Tihanomwangire, Lovers have been called upon to be careful with their loved ones as their celebrate today’s valentine’s day.

According to the managing director of www.mknewslink.com  Wilber Muhwezi Kasibante, there is no longer trust amongst lovers.

He advised www.mknewslink.com supporters to always check their lovers’ bags when they visit them because Loyce carried a sharpened panga and knives in her bag which she allegedly used to kill her lover.

Mr. Kasibante noted that lovers should be careful adding that today’s courtship is far different from that of the past because girls of this generation are money minded.

He said boys have also turned funny because they want to sleep with as many girls as possible which has caused conflicts amongst lovers and at times has resulted into murder, injuries, and police cases among others.

In Ntungamo—

The archbishop of the Church of Uganda Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Kazimba has called upon all the dioceses allover Uganda to invest in their vast lands in order to overcome land grabbers.

He said this during his first pastoral visit in south Ankole Diocese Ntungamo district.

Dr. Kazimba commissioned a number of projects at Kyamate hill including a hatchery, South Ankole mission health Centre III, Dean’s house, fish pond, mother’s union house, and irrigation scheme worth over ugx 635 million from the ministry of water and environment.

Flanked by his wife maama Margret Kazimba, he was received by south Ankole Diocese Bishop Nathan Ahimbisibwe and his wife Maama Lillian and diocesan staff.

He is however expected to end his three day pastoral visit today at St. Matthew’s cathedral.

In Bushenyi—

The retiring Member of Parliament for Bushenyi Ishaka municipality Gordon Arinda Cowboy has revealed that he has always served for only 5 years to allow others also serve.

Cowboy was yesterday speaking as chief guest at a function of giving out 65 goats to members of Bushenyi development initiative group.

Bushenyi Development Initiative Group which so far has 160 members was started by supporters of MP Cowboy and he is the patron of the group

MP Cowboy noted that he served for 5 years as a researcher at Makerere, another 5 as clerk to council in Bushenyi local government.

He added that he also spent 5 more years as an Assistant Chief Administrative Officer, then 5 as a town clerk at Kashenshero.

He revealed that he has been to parliament for 5 years and has retired honorably, in peace with every stakeholder.

He handed over a two million shillings cheque to the group to help in its development.
