The Bushenyi District Education Officer Saul Rwampororo has warned school directors and head teachers against increasing school fees as students report back to schools

Sub candidate classes are on Monday 1^st March 2021 expected to join the rest of the finalists at their respective schools to continue with studies.

Speaking to www.mknewslink.com reporter, Saul Rwampororo said that however much the pandemic has affected the nation, there should be no abnormal increase of school fees.

“Imagine you will find some head teachers sending learners to bring a jerycan of sanitizer, all that for what!” Rwampororo added.

Rwampororo said that this is not the time to raise the school fees because the parents were affected by COVID19 as well.

The Igara east parliamentary first runners up Dan Mugura Karukiiko and his agent from Kyabugimbi sub county Obed Sebagala have reportedly been poisoned.

The two were first admitted at KIU but their condition was alarming thus they had to be referred to Mbarara Regional referral hospital.

Credible sources intimated to www.mknewslink.com that the incident took place on Wednesday after the two had lunch in Kabwohe on their way from Mbarara as they headed for the candidate’s home in Kitagata Kyeizooba Bushenyi.  

According to the sources, the two have been in comma for the last three days and Dan Karukiiko has just started talking uncoordinated information.

Sources told www.mknewslink.com that the two were discovered unconscious in Dan’s house by residents who had come to visit him.

However, Bushenyi police OCCID Benon Kivengere said that he has also heard about it as a rumor but no report has been made so that they can commence their investigations.

The poisoning of the two is allegedly because of the concluded Igara east parliamentary and the Rwentuha town council LCIII controversial elections.

There are a lot of divisions in Igara east between Mawanda’s supporters and Dan Karukiiko’s.

Other divisions are in Rwentuha town council after FDC’s Naboth defeated Mawanda’s right hand man Fred Kibala Mbika in Rwentuha town council LCIII elections.

In Mbarara—

Seven people were arrested by the National Drug Authorities after they were found selling counterfeits drugs named tick burn used to spray animals.

The regional manager National Drug Authority Mbarara Kiiza Kenneth disclosed this at a one day sensitization and press briefing held the regional office Booma Mbarara.

 He explained that the suspects were arrested in the operation conducted in a period of two weeks in the districts of Mbarara Sheema, Bushenyi, Kyenjojo, Ntungamo and Rubirizi.

Kiiza said that the suspects just rebranded the lava which is used to spray and destroy weeds to tick burn.

Kiiza noted that farmers would use this drug to spray it as a tick resistant spray.

He revealed that the suspects were handed over to police as investigations into the matter continue

He called upon farmers to always seek technical advice from qualified veterinary doctors before they purchase any drug for safety of the animals and human life.

Addressing the meeting the Resident City Commissioner Mbarara Lt Col James Mwesigye asked NDA to engage farmers because they are the most affected people.

RCC Mwesigye warned Veterinary agents and business people against distribution and administration of counterfeit drugs which may put lives of animals and humans in danger.

The District Veterinary Officer Mbarara Dr. Andrew Akashaba revealed that as a department, they have issues with private veterinary practitioners over their practising habits.
