BUSHENYI WOMEN LEADERS EMPOWERED WITH NEW KNOWLEDGE, IDEAS BY ALOWA

The executive director of All in One Women’s Association (ALOWA) Lillian Namirimu has warned women leaders to fight for the rights of women through associations they have already formed.
Lillian Namirimu said this today in a one day workshop organized by ALOWA at JAMUGI conference hall in Bushenyi town.
She advised women leaders to use the knowledge acquired today to empower the women they lead in Bushenyi district.

ALOWA is funded by United Nations democracy fund and will train women leaders in 33 districts countrywide and they have so far covered 5; four in Kigezi and one in Ankole.
She revealed that they are here to strengthen women associations such that they are able to fight for the rights of ordinary women in their communities.
ALOWA also formed its own committee in Bushenyi for easy coordination chaired by Doreen Birimbo.
From Bushenyi the ALOWA leaders will head to Kasese where they will empower women as they did in Bushenyi.
Bushenyi district community development officer Bazil Muhanguzi hailed ALOWA for training Bushenyi women leaders by giving them new knowledge and ideas which will empower them to fight for their rights in their communities.
