In Kabale—

Police in Kabale are investigating circumstances under which a boda boda rider was knocked dead by gate way bus.

According to Elly Maate the Kigezi region police spokesperson, Nsubuga Abdu wahabu the driver of Gateway bus reg no UBE 066S isuzu knocked and killed on spot Henry Kashaija of Kyanamira Kabale district who was riding motor cycle regn UEV132Z Bajaj.

Matte told www.mknewslink.com that the accident happened on 18/03/2021 at around 19:30hrs at Nyakijumba along Mbarara Kabale highway.

He added that the motorcycle and bus were both heading in the same direction, and the rider lost control and overturned on the road only to be run over by the behind tyres of the bus killing him instantly.

Police visited the scene and the body was taken to Kabale hospital mortuary for postmortem while the bus plus motor cycle were taken to police yard pending IOV inspection.

The case was registered at Kabale police under file number TAR 26/2021

In Sheema—

Police in Sheema district have arrested two primary school teachers for fighting in a bar.

The two teachers; Daniel Mugizi and Magezi both staff at Rwabuza primary school Shuuku Town council Sheema district were yesterday arrested by Police for beating up Duncan Nkyonko into comma.

According to eye witnesses, the suspects beat up Duncan Nkyonko at around midnight in Doctors Bar located in Shuuku Town council Sheema district.

Eye witnesses say that the fight started when Daniel insulted Duncan that he could not afford the drink the two were taking and Duncan insulted him back before they started beating him.

The two decided to flee the place after realizing that Duncan had started losing his breath.

In Rukungiri—

The Member of Parliament for Rujumbura Constituency Hon. Fred Tumuhirwe Turyamuhweza has on 18^th March 2021, petitioned Kabale High Court seeking for the nullification of  Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi Katugugu’s  victory in January 14th election.

Turyamhweza of the Forum for Democratic Change FDC party polled 20,556 votes losing the race to Maj Gen Jim Muhwezi of the ruling National Resistance Movement NRM who polled 23,990 votes.

However, Turyamuhweza accuses his opponent of engaging in Voter bribery, intimidation, ballot stuffing asserting that many of his agents were dismissed from polling stations to facilitate rigging on the polling day.

According to him, all the actions contradicted provisions of the Parliamentary Elections Act, and denied him victory.

Through his Lawyers of Jude Byamukama advocates, Turyamuhweza wants the Court announce that the declaration of election results for Rujumbura County was not conducted in compliance with the law governing elections in Uganda which substantially affected the outcome.

The legislator adds that since he has filled his petition, he will wait for a ruling in the coming month of April adding that he will abide to its ruling.

In Bushenyi

Bushenyi district has today 19^th March 2021 finally received COVID 19 Astra Zeneca vaccine and launched its vaccination in the district.

The vaccination process was launched at Bushenyi health center IV by the District Health Officer Dr. Edward Mwesigye.

Mwesigye revealed that they have received only 3650 dozes of Astra Zeneca and each person should receive two dozes in a period of 28 days.

Dr. Mwesigye said the district has gazzetted five centers of; Bushenyi H/C IV, Kyeizooba H/C III, Kyabugimbi H/C IV, Nyabubare H/C III and Kyamuhunga H/C III.

He emphasized that in all centers of vaccinations, the vaccine will always be taken there on a daily basis and only kept at Bushenyi H/C IV

The Bushenyi District RDC Asiimwe Jane Muhindo, urged the people to feel free with the vaccination because the vaccine is not meant to harm anyone but to help their bodies fight corona virus in case they get infected.

Speaking to www.mknewslink.com  David Byamukama the District Commercial Officer who was the first person to be vaccinated revealed that the injection is not painful and urged everyone to take part in the process besides many criticisms.

In Kakumiro-

Unknown assailants have attacked the home of one of Bunyoro Kingdom’s County Chief in Bugangaizi East in Kakumiro district and shot dead his wife.

Mr. Charles Kabanda was attacked by armed assassins on Wednesday evening, and they shot dead his wife.

He put up a fight against them in an attempt to defend his family. Magembe and his children survived the attack.

The Prime Minister of Bunyoro visited him and extended the Kingdom’s sympathies to him and his entire family.

He condemned the attack and asked people to use civil and lawful means in solving their disputes.

Scared residents requested the Kingdom to amplify their voices before the Government about the need to end insecurity in the area.
They asked Police to work with locals in improving on law and order in the area.

The Prime Minister asked Police to expeditiously investigate the case and ensure that suspects are prosecuted. The deceased wife will be laid to rest today.

In Rukungiri—

Police in Rukungiri district are investigating circumstances under which a male resident of Nyamitooma II Parish in Western ward, Bikurungu Town Council died.

The deceased Wellen Oribariho 36 was found dead on Wednesday at around 6 pm in his house by his wife.

According to the residents, Oribariho an alcohol addict spent the whole day in a bar until 5pm when he decided to go back home.

“He was later found dead by his wife Yusitina Turamyomwe who was coming back from garden, and she alerted police at Bikurungu police post,” residents told the press.

Yusitina was then arrested by Bikurungu police to help them in investigations after residents suspected that he was poisoned.

Yusitina acknowledged having had misunderstandings with her husband but ruled out killing him.

“He would most of the times chase us from the house whenever he comes drunk but I couldn’t kill him,” she confessed.

Rukungiri central police station team together with a doctor visited the scene, did a postmortem and confirmed that the deceased died of alcohol.

The body was handed over to the family and relatives for burial.

The deceased is survived by a widow and five children.

In Mbarara—

Residents of Nyabisirira I Kashare, Kashari North Constituency were yesterday shocked after their fellow resident dumped her own baby in the latrine.

Annet Tukahirwa 20 years alleged that her baby accidentally fell into her neighbor’s latrine when she had gone for a short call.

Residents intimated to www.mknewslink.com that one of them who had gone to the latrine heard the baby crying, called them and they swung into action to rescue the baby.

Residents say the baby was taken to Sheema Clinic in Rubindi Town council with her mother to receive medical attention.

Dr. Flex Turyakira of Sheema Clinic says the baby is in good conditions since its receiving medical attention.

According to James Tukahirwa the father to Annet , his daughter who has been working in Mbarara recently returned home and they were suspicious that she was pregnant though she refused to be taken for antenatal checkups.
