4 COUNCILORS BATTLE FOR NTUNGAMO DISTRICT SPEAKERSHIP

As the swearing in for the new LC5 Councilors and district Chairperson draws nearer, there is tension in Ntungamo district after four councilors have shown interest to battle for the district speakership.
The four are Naboth Mpirirwe Kasiisi of Ntungamo subcounty, Nicholas Twikirize Mugyenyi from Kitwe town council, Elijah Atuhaire Rugarama North, and Christopher Bariyo the youth male councilor elect.
The four aspiring candidates are now busy sweet talking fellows for votes, each of them convincing fellows that he is the best for the seat.
The Speaker will be elected on 25th May 2021 immediately after the swearing in of the district Chairman Sam Mucunguzi Rwakigoba and all Councilors.
The Ntungamo magisterial area Chief Magistrate Gordon Muhimbise is expected to preside over the swearing in function of Chairman-elect alongside all his Councillors, then after, the Returning Officer of Ntungamo Electoral Commission Latif Ngonzi will also preside over the election of district Speaker.
