In Ntungamo—

The first man in Ntungamo to father a child at the age of 12 was yesterday laid to rest at his home in Kirama, Rukoni parish Kibatsi Sub County.

Ben Baherezibwa succumbed to intestinal complications on Monday as a result of long Ulcers infection.

Baherezibwa who was a salon operator in Rwashamaire at the time of his death, produced his first child when he was in Primary 6 with a girl who was in S.3 at the time.

Violet Baherezibwa the mother to the late said his son was a miracle father who never fell back even after giving birth to his first child.

Ms Baherezibwa said his son had an intestinal illness which he acquired after working in South Sudan for months

He stayed with the complication for over three years going to and from hospital. At the time of his death he had been hospitalized at Mbarara regional referral hospital where multiple tests were done including the test for cancer but the results returned negative.

Baherezibwa’s son Jordan Natumanya 18, described his father as a caring man who loved his children and would counsel them whenever they had challenges.

His elder brother Edson Baherezibwa who is the Uganda Red Cross society head of volunteer services castigated the health services for failure to operate to standards especially providing essential medicines to patients.

In Masindi—

Residents in Masindi are worried over the increased number of uncovered manholes which put their lives at stake.

John Tumusiime a boda boda rider explains that the increased uncovered manholes in town are putting people’s lives in danger since they are along the road sides.

“I’m suspecting the scrap dealers to be behind this vice because other people can’t steal covers apart from the scrap dealers,” Tumusiime lamented.

Daphine Birungi another resident is concerned about the points at which most of these manholes are. They are mostly along Masindi hospital road, while another one is behind Aloevera guest house in town.

When our reporter approached Alokit Annrechael the area manager National Water and Sewage Corporation – NWSC, she apologized to the public for the inconvenience caused and revealed that they are planning to replace the covers.

The area manager also explained that they are working closely with other respective stakeholders including the area chairpersons, and the security to apprehend the culprits that are causing them losses.

Alokit has also appealed to the public to report the suspects to either the National Water and Sewage Corporation or police.

ASP Joshua Kananura the Masindi District Police Commander declined to comment on the matter, and referred our reporter to ASP Julius Hakiza the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson.

In Sheema—

Sheema RDC Frank Kyerere has warned people who complain that they have been bewitched while they cannot provide evidence.

His warning came after a group of people who are constructing a bridge in Masheruka Sheema district claimed that a resident is totally harassing them with her witchcraft

According to Elasta Ninkila the bridge construction manager, he started the work with 12 workers but he has now remained with only four after the other 8 were bewitched and they ran for their lives.

However, the RDC told www.mknewslink.com that complainants cannot accuse someone of bewitching them without providing evidence.

He attributed their sickness to poor eating and taking of excess alcohol thus advising them to check out the two habits.

Two of the workers who identified themselves as James Namanya and Byaruhanga vowed that they will handle the suspect in their own way adding that they cannot return home without money because of just one wicked individual.
