In Bushenyi—

Four residents in Bushenyi have tested positive for COVD 19.

The four were part of the 915 new cases from tests done on 31^st May 2021 by the ministry of health.

According to Dr. Edward Mwesigwa the District health officer DHO the cases are both in town and village communities.

Uganda has so far registered 48676 accumulative cases, and 364 deaths.

The neighboring district of Mitooma had earlier confirmed one case while Sheema district registered a death.

In Mbarara—

Police in Mbarara are investigating circumstances under which a 26-year-old boda boda rider was murdered.

The body of the deceased Silivano Arinaitwe was yesterday found dumped in a bush in Kihumuro along Mbarara-Bushenyi road.

The deceased, who will be laid to rest in Rubaya Mbarara today, had been operating from Kiyanja stage Kamukuzi until his disappearance on May 28, 2021.

According to Rwizi region police spokesperson Samson Kasasira, the deceased’s wife reported the disappearance case which prompted police to start investigation.

The body was recovered with head injuries and his motorcycle registration number UFG 442 F robbed.

In Sheema—

Police in Sheema are hunting for unknown mother who dumped her two day old toddler into a pit latrine.

The owner of the latrine Emphrasti Kakurustyano a resident Nyamiko village Kihunda ward Kagango division Sheema municipality told www.mknewslink.com that she was informed by  her grandchildren that a child was crying inside their latrine.

She added that she informed the LCI chairperson to call officers from Kihunda police post who rushed to the scene, dag the pit latrine, removed the baby and rushed it to Kihunda health center III for management.

Priscica Ainembabazi a nurse at Kihunda Health center III confirmed that the baby was two days old and advised that it should be rushed to the incubator machine.

Meanwhile, ASP. Mary Mukago told www.mknewslink.com  that they are planning on transferring the baby to Mbarara referral hospital as they hunt for the mother.
