OWC BENEFICIARIES CHALLENGED TO DESIST FROM SELLING OFF GOVERNMENT PROJECTS

Operation Wealth Creation – OWD beneficiaries in Masindi district have been challenged not to exchange government projects into cash but rather take care of them to eradicate poverty.
The call was made this afternoon at the official handover of twenty heifers donated by the government through the NAADs secretariat to the special interest groups including the youth, people with disabilities, people living with HIV/AIDS, and the district officials at the district headquarters.
Maj. Norbert Akiiki Besisira the OWC coordinator Buruli Constituency challenged the beneficiaries not to exchange heifers into cash before multiplying but rather take care of them to eradicate poverty, improve on nutrition and improve on the house hold income.
Richard Kiiza the Principal Assistant Chief Administrative Officer – Masindi appreciated the government for the effort injected in fighting poverty in the district through such projects.
Kiiza appealed to the beneficiaries to take care of the heifers to fight poverty, improve nutrition, and also improve on household income. He also warned them from exchanging them for cash unless they multiply noting that if they exchange them for cash they will have lost the capital.
Edward Wabyona the youth leader from greater Pakanyi sub county has applauded the government for the project noting that he has been empowered to eradicate poverty and improve on his household income.
“This is my capital, and I will look after it to be an example before the youth to enable embrace government projects, and I believe it will improve on my household income.” Norbert Tweheyo the youth chairperson Budongo sub county notes.
Grace Gawera a resident of Kimengo sub county hopes the project will improve on her nutrition, household income and become the role model in her sub county.
