Bushenyi District Health Officer Dr. Edward Mwesigye has revealed that out of 121 patients in the district, 7 have refused to adhere to home care management rules and have been moving around villages.
He added that among the 121, 7 admitted at Kampala International University where as 114 are in their homes and 7 of them are errant patients.
Dr. Mwesigye told www.mknewslink.com in an exclusive interview that after the 7 started moving around villages, they decided to retest them and 3 tested negative whereas 4 were still positive.
He called upon leaders to be on alert and ensure that sick people don’t move around the villages and SOPs are observed as guided by the president of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
He attributed the increase of COVID 19 cases to closure of schools and the return of people from Mukono, Kampala, Wakiso and other areas.
He noted that the vaccine are coming and called upon all those who are due for the second dose to turn up first so that they can be considered first.
He noted that it is a behavior disease therefore people should be careful, take care of themselves citing out that his staff at Bushenyi health Centre IV who have been taking samples from patients have not contracted the disease.
He called upon all types of media to continue helping in sensitizing the public on the dangers of COVID 19 and observing the SOPs as they did in the first wave
