Police in Bushenyi have arrested the Kakanju NRM registrar on charges of stealing goats.
Jonath Musinguzi was apprehended over the weekend after he was caught red handed with two stolen goats.
The acting Bushenyi DPC Titus Kitosi has confirmed the arrest of Musinguzi adding that he is in their custody and will be taken to court to answer to charges of livestock theft.
He said that livestock theft is a big case in Bushenyi since cattle is the mainly livelihood for the residents.
He blamed the registrar for showing a bad example to Kakanju residents and the entire Bushenyi community.
He added that such a leader should be a good example whom people look up for pieces of advice.
He assured our reporter that Musinguzi won’t be given police bond; his case will be handled as emergency, he will have to first appear before court.
The district NRM registrar Alikangiro Barekye told www.mknewslink.com that he was going to investigate the matter since he does expect such from his staff.
Kakanju subcounty found in Bushenyi district is well known for producing a number of thieves because most of the youths don’t go to school neither do they work but rather spend the whole meandering around villages.

Sheema Resident District Commissioner Frank Besigye Kyerere has commended a security Operatives who yesterday poured milk of a farmer in Sheema.The picture which went viral on social media shows a police officer pouring milk impounded from a farmer as the owner helplessly watched on.
The president’s representative however, praised the officer for the act adding that since the milk could not be burnt, taken to court or prison, pouring it was the only way to punish the big headed famers.
Kyerere noted that farmers should follow the guidelines that were constituted by the ministry of animal husbandry in a bid to control the spread of foot and mouth disease.
“We put a ban on the sale of all animal products and suspended weekly animal markets in the district due to Foot and mouth disease, why can’t they follow simple guidelines,” Kyerere blasted farmers.
Sheema district has been battling foot mouth disease since April, with Muzira and Kakiindo all in Kyagyenyi sub county,Sheema district as the most affected areas.

A missing man in Sheema was yesterday found in a water dam lifeless after four days of escape from his home.
The deceased Musa Rukanduka a resident of Kishabya village Shuuku Town council was found dead in a water dam in the same village.
Boaz Bizira Nimbareba the mayor Shuuku Town council told www.mknewslink.com that the family of the deceased has been hunting for him for about four days only to discover his body in a water dam.
Twesigye Coleb the OCCID Kishabya police station told www.mknewslink.com that the missing of the deceased who allegedly had a mental illness was reported by his family some days back.

Police in Rukungiri are holding a pastor and his 15 followers after they were yesterday found attending a Church service in disregard to the Presidential directives on COVID-19.
The lead suspect pastor Herbert Byabagye is the leader of Worship Healing Church found in Rushoroza Village, Nyakinengo Parish in Nyakagyeme Sub County Rukungiri District.
The pastor and his followers were arrested in an operation led by the GISO plus the area Police and were first detained at Nyakagyeme Sub County police post before they were transferred to Rukungiri central police station.
Fatuma Kamanzi the Nyakagyeme Sub County chief told www.mknewslink.com that they won’t seat and look on as Ugandans flout the presidential guidelines aimed at saving their lives from the novel COVID-19.
Kamanzi added that the suspects will be punished so that they serve as an example to other members of the community who could be having such habit.
In Rukungiri district 91 people have already tested positive to COVID 19.
