In Masindi—-
Residents of Karujubu Division in Masindi Municipality Masindi district are worried over continuous extortion by Police and UPDF officers during security to Masindi Biiso road constructors.
Residents claim that the security operatives take their motorcycles parked on the verandahs, and then ask them to pay Shs100, 000.
“They open our houses and asked us why we are playing music in our houses, they charge us money,” residents added.
Masindi district speaker Moses Kirya confirmed that he has so far recorded 22 cases from residents and blamed the Officer in charge of Karujubu Police Post and the UPDF soldiers who are protecting the construction vehicles along Masindi – Biiso Road.

“Yesterday I was in Karujubu, we didn’t have such a number of motorcycles at the police station. These are police constables robbing people; if anyone is caught red handed he or she will face the law,” SP Edna Nyerereza the acting Masindi DPC noted
