ANGRY MOB KILLS NOTORIOUS MURDERER, MOTORCYCLE THIEF IN KISORO

An angry mob in Kisoro district has killed a 29 year old man on suspicion that he was part of the gang that has been murdering boda boda riders in the district.
Police identified the deceased as Ngabire Gerald, a resident of Kasemisego village Southern division in Kisoro municipality.
Ngabire met his death on Tuesday 2nd November 2021 after as he tried to flee from the Police following an arrest by the Boda Boda community.
Information from our source indicate that Ngabire Gerald was responsible for dropping threatening letters at homes of people informing them to surrender their motorcycles.
The letter would be threatening the owner of the motorcycle to either give it up or die.
Ngabire allegedly hit riders with hammers on the head before stealing their Motorcycles.
Nsenga Isaac, a motorcycle owner who fell victim on 23rd October 2021 narrated how the letter explained how his motorcycle was going to be dismantled near the Pentecostal church behind Mubano hotel.
“I almost lost my life and motorcycle to this thief, I speed off to save my life and bike,” Nsenga narrated.
Kisoro United Boda Boda Association (KUBO) chairperson Kalangala Robert Nteziyaremye, said that together with some of his committee members they got leads, rushed to Ngabire Gerald’s home and arrested him.
He added that through thorough interrogation, the renowned thief revealed the entire operation and was later handed over to Police where he tried to escape but boda boda riders descended on him and killed him.
Police has since condemned the act of mob justice and called upon members of the public to reveal more information about the boda boda racket that has been terrorizing the region
