AIRTEL UGANDA AWARDS 58 FRANCHISE PARTNERS WITH CERTIFICATES

Airtel Uganda the Smartphone Network with the widest 4G internet coverage in Uganda, on 11th Nov 2021completed the Airtel Franchise Partner Development Program.
The program aimed at equipping participants with practical business models that will see them deliver efficiently as well as boost their business performance.
The one day program was held yesterday in Rukungiri Municipality, at Okapi hotel.
Launched in April this year, The Airtel Franchise Partner Development Program seeks to empower Franchise Partners in the Airtel Uganda value chain with business skillsets that support them to operate their profits while delivering the best customer service experiences to the valued Airtel customers across the country.
Speaking at the training, Esther Karibwende the Franchise partner and Go to Market manager said, “We are happy that we’ve come this far since we began the exercise in Hoima District”.
Karibwende said participants were able to move away with Personal money management, Basic business skills, Running their Airtel business and Tax & compliance.
“As Airtel, we believe the program will be instrumental in replicating a sustained value chain through creating jobs for agents and Sim Selling Outlets, among many others who might be directly or indirectly impacted,” Karibwende concluded.
The training sessions were facilitated by experts, led by a team from Airtel Uganda and Ability Explored.
Ronald Mayanja Omugalanda the Executive Director (ED) Ability to Explore is optimistic that the training will help the Franchise partners to grow since they’ve been equipped with skills in personal money management, personal business improvement, people management among others.
Jolly Twinamasiko the Director Jero Wines and one of the Airtel Franchise partner commended Airtel Uganda for uplifting their business partners with important business skills.
“As a franchise partner, I have learnt putting my books of accounts on record and balancing them which will in turn help me understand if my business is progressing or vice versa,” Twinamasiko asserted.
Shallon Kazagatta the Director Matsiko Traders Limited, another franchise partner said they’ve been given an opportunity to grow with Airtel through the training sessions.
“The knowledge we acquired today will help us run our businesses including Airtel hence a very big growth opportunity among our community through integrating the knowledge shared by experts,” Kazagatta added.
The one-month training kicked off from 18th October 2021 to 11th November 2021 within selected regions across the country including: Northern Uganda (Gulu & Lira), Eastern Uganda (Mbale, Soroti and Moroto), West Nile (Arua) and in Western Uganda (Kabale & Rukungiri).
A total of 58 Franchise partners received their certificates during the 2nd phase of the program.
