The archdeacon of All saints Greater Bushenyi Rev. Can. Bethel Namara has hailed jubilee SACCO for giving back to their customers on this Christmas.

The archdeacon said this today at All Saints Church while officiating at function where Jubilee SACCO was handing over Christmas goodies to their customers.

The archdeacon was representing Bishop Johnson Twinomujuni who is the patron of the SACCO.

Jubilee SACCO owned by West Ankole Diocese has branches in Bushenyi, Kabwohe Sheema and Kashenshero in Mitooma with outreaches in Ndekye Rubirizi, Bihanga in Buhweju and Kitagata in Sheema.

The Christmas goodies that Jubilee SACCO gave to their customers from across greater Bushenyi were worth millions of shillings.

Jubilee SACCO started shinning when the Bishop of West Ankole during his first visit cross diocese mobilized believers to join Jubilee SACCO.

Bushenyi Resident District Commissioner Jane Asiimwe Muhindo has revealed that the new variant of COVID19 Omicron has reached Bushenyi.

She added that according to a report from the DHO Dr. Edward Mwesigye, two people have so far tested positive for the disease though she did not divulge more details.

The RDC made a revelation after holding a security meeting at her office at Bushenyi district headquarters.

She advised parents not to take children to churches and other crowded areas due to the fact that they cannot protect themselves from COVID 19.

She warned church leaders to be vigilant and watch out for people who carry bags to church since the country lives in fear of terrorists.

Ms. Asiimwe urged the public to be security conscience as some of the people who come back to villages for Christmas may carry bombs and COVID 19.

Bushenyi Resident District Commissioner Jane Asiimwe Muhindo has hailed Bushenyi FM (BFM) for remembering their listeners and spending on them 36 million shillings.

The RDC said this today afternoon at BFM while officiating at a handover of goats, mattresses, iron sheets, bananas, Rice to the listeners who won in the recent Christmas promotion.

She noted that BFM is the most listened to Radio in greater Bushenyi therefore residents should continue to listen because government programs will continue to channel through the radio.

The chairman board of directors Jonas Tumwiine noted that they have been overwhelmed by support from listeners, a reason they decided to spend 36 million shillings on them. He noted that they will do the same on Easter, Idd and next Christmas.

Julius Tumusime the director in charge of marketing asked the RDC to use the radio to promote programs like the Parish model so that the public can benefit.

BFM will construct a kitchen for a woman who was found cooking from outside while listening to the radio.

Every employee at the station was given money equivalent to a goat for them to enjoy during this Christmas.

In Masindi—-

Four sugarcane trucks were on Wednesday impounded in Butobe Cell Nyangahya Division in Masindi Municipality while ferrying sugarcanes belonging to Kinyara Sugar Limited.

The TATA lorries registration numbers UBH009Q, UBJ152G, UBJ150G, and UBG578X were intercepted by the security of Kinyara Sugar Limited on Tuesday at around 11:45hours.

The said trucks had poached sugarcanes equivalent to 90 tonnes worth UGX7, 956,000 at the point of arrest.

The canes were poached from field 4 and 8 Butobe Estate, Butobe Cell Nyanghya Division in Masindi Municipality.

One of the drivers identified as Musa Kamihinda attached to the truck registration number UBH009Q is under police custody whereas three other drivers are on run, and 15 loaders fled the crime scene.

The trucks whose ownership is not yet conclusively established were found in possession of three sugarcane permits belonging to Kyenjojo Sugar Industries Limited bearing the names of Geoffrey Abigaba as the supplier.

Richard Wanok the Communications Manager Kinyara Sugar Limited told our reporter that the case has been reported at Masindi Central Police Station for investigations and the trucks are parked the police.

He noted that they shall continue to operate with the police to ensure that such perpetrators are brought to book.

When contacted on phone, Fred Mwesigwa who declined to reveal his status at Kyenjojo Sugar Industries Limited told our reporter that the person responsible is on the way to secure the impounded vehicles.

Julius Hakiza the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson confirmed the impounding of the sugarcane trucks suspecting to have been ferrying sugarcanes belonging to Kinyara Sugar Limited, and the driver is in the police custody.
